Re: Kitsurfing in Taiwan?

stick to the west side spots this time of year. guangyi is probably the closest to taipei but junan is better. it's about an hour south. guangyi is far too polluted which in taiwan standards means it's about 100 times worse than anywhere else in the world. we're just getting into the winter weather ...

Re: Kiteloop Session in Slo-Mo

OH...is that all? it looks so easy. Mine usually rocket me, throw me uncontrollably, and scare the poop out of me. :shake:

love the vid. 'bout time we saw some nice frame by frame action.

Re: Insane kite spot in taiwan

while the waves are not big the wind is! i've kited the gorge for the last couple of years and now i'm stationed in taiwan. i feel like i've died and gone to heaven as it's possible to kite every month of the year and when it's on you better grab your small kite. i'm 90 kilos and have already used m...

Re: Multi location trip, what would you do?

'nam is definitely a good bet as it is super cheap with consistent winds and awesome food. however, i wouldn't head there until at least x-mas time. any earlier and the wind season may not have turned on yet.

borocay and elsewhere in the 'pines is a good bet for the winter months as well...

Re: North Vegas 2008

i've ridden north for the past 3 seasons and love them in all conditions. especially freaky devil wind as they eat anything in their path. i demo'd the full naish quiver last summer and found them to be far more twitchy in gusty conditions and a little less forgiving. their still a good kite but jus...

Re: How to PREVENT beaches being banned

yeah, anyone out there have any visual graphics that show general safety rules, suggested zones, and/or signals? we're in a similar boat due to a recent kiter fatality and want to take some pro-active steps before the govn't steps in. :nono: anything that we can put together to help educate the publ...

boracay in the 'pines is definitely dope but doesn't hold a candle to 'nam. or better yet both don't even come close to taiwan. but that's for "secret spots" thread. in the end though the gorge should be top of the list. nowhere does it blow as hard and as consistently as it does there. and what a s...

mui nei bay, vietnam. between dec-april it is consistent and with a chill vibe. cheap beer, cheap accomodations, awesome food, hot 'nam chicks. it lacks the head high and beyond waves but it has afternoon thermals and plenty of room to roam. not to mention explore. i've also heard nothing but good t...
