Re: Essaouira with the Mrs

How's the wind in late October? I'm hydrofoiling, so +10 knots I'm ok. Thinking about combo family / kite week

Re: Inflatable race kites

I'm no expert, and fly low aspect foil kites. But I've noted that when I trim them for more power, something else is going on than just changing the AoA. If feels like the profile changes too. I just get more power.

Re: Flysurfer Soul

At the risk of being flamed for hijacking this Soul thread.... 1. You don't need a new kite to learn to hydrofoil. Use what you have in appropriate winds until you are flying and doing flying carves/gybes. 2. Then consider a foil kite. 3. Look at the low to mid aspect foils on the market. My opinion...

Re: Hydrofoiling: Why you need a short mast - Foil Fridays

I started with 90cm mast, then moved to 105cm, then added 71cm to the mix, tried 24"/28"/30"/36"/15" and 16" masts so far My opinion - long mast is the way to go. For large bodies of shallow water like OBX/SPI you want to have an additional, short mast. The 71cm (and anything shorter) felt a bit to...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

I saw video of Regis (?) on 4,5 in light winds. Seems to fly in nothing. Good to get back if indeed when wind backs off. Great choice! I think you mean my video of a Pulsion 3.69 m2 , right ? here about 8 knot or less, at 8:40 on this detailed film (and after 46 knot gust !....) https://www.youtube...

Re: Liquid Force Rocket Foil V2 vs. 2019 Cabrinha Hi Rise Lift Foil vs. 2018 Liquid Force Impulse Foil

I dont ride an impulse, but several of the guys that i foil with regularly do. Ive tried them. Looking at their experiences and jugding differnence from what i ride, they are really good value and perfect beginner and very good progression to advanced free riding. I dont think you can go wrong with ...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Thanks guys. I just ordered a 4,5 wave. What line length are you using? What bar size and leash system? Ben said to attach a leash to the transverse brake line. Which I did easy on one of my bars already. What are you doing? Now my quiver is: Hyperlink V2 13m 6-12knots( don't have it yet) Hyperlink ...

Re: Pocket Board (HF) Layup Question

Yes, you will need carbon stringers each side, like 600g uni D each side, 150wide.

You should to get some 10-15 mm 80-50kg/m3 foam and glue together over simple rocker form

Re: Pocket Board (HF) Layup Question

No. On xps you need 3x 6oz glass on bottom and top .Add a 4th foot patch on top.
Xps is extremely soft. It's still probably going to heel dent

Your mast attachment must have solid plugs of epoxy or plastic all the way through.

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Thanks.
Benoit wrote to me and said 3m is Good 20-35. But I'm sceptical about having overlapping to the 7 HL. I like to have some power and not working the kite all the time.
Have to consider the 4,5m . .
