Re: DIY pocket foil board buoyancy

Best way is to put eps or 30 kg PU foam between. 10-20mm thick. Then embed the reinforcement for foil in between the ply skins. That core you show will suck up a ton of resin and add almost no flotation. You can buy 10mm PU foam in smaller pieces and have it in several pieces, it doesn't have to be ...

Re: First impression of Gong M Pro

Gong sells 100cm mast and fuse for 699€. Tooling costs 25000€ according to Gong. So they are going to have to sell around 1000 of them over 2 years to amortize the tooling to 25€ per mast. Maybe they could do kickstarter type of funding... Yes, Gong needs better editing and organization on their web...

Re: Pocket board building

Hi Tom! I very much like the in-between size and just the overall look of it. Would you be willing to share more dimensions beyond the length? How thick is it in the back/front? How wide? What's the distance from back of the board to the back of the mastplate? Beautiful work, as always! 475mm wide....

Re: First impression of Gong M Pro

Will be interested to hear comparison with the alu masts. Not clear from the Gong website, but is your mast/fuselage compatible with veloce wings AND MPro wing? Yes. All surf wings fit onto both aluminum surf fuselage and carbon mast/ fuselage. It wasn't clear to me that the Veloce was considered a...

Gong sent my new 100cm mast and Veloce wings today. I'll try both veloce wings and M pro wings with longer mast as I'm venting wing as I lean over into upwind carve.
Will also try veloce 43 cm stab with m pro wing.
Is this the 100cm carbon mast?
Yes.

Re: Another this vs that thread: XR6 vs PS for beginner

The core is a top line product. You can grow with it. And build out your kite quiver. Always best to use same kite brand and model in all your sizes as beginner. 13,5 size is good from 14 knots on tt as a beginner. On a TT don't expect to kite until is 12-14 knots. Then a 15m is better. Then if you ...

Re: First impression of Gong M Pro

Again today in more wind and 90 min with the 40cm kite stabilizer. I got more used to it, but still feel it loses drive going fast and powered into carve upwind. I found I have to do more pivot turn with the wing, not driving thru in smooth arc. Have to keep wing flatter in water during tacks. Its ...

Re: 32" Mast vs. 36" Mast ; Which is Better?

I'm going from 90 to 100. I keep breaching wing tips in upwind and downwind transitions. Especially upwind tacks. I ride in choppy conditions 90% of the time.
