My kite pump last really many many years and loads of sessions. After 5 years the hole were the shaft glides wears out. (=time to replace pump) We have lots of fine sticky sands getting everywhere, getting also inside the pump and around the shaft. (i can literally get several spoons of sand out of ...

Re: what kind of lubricant should I use on a kite pump?

Indeed use only silicone grease. (Lithium grease is dirty shit) Clean the pump and excisting grease completely. I think every brand of thick silicone grease will work, i use superlube and molykote. It has best resistance against sand dirt, is non stick and gives no dirt marks on kites etc. (Like a n...

Re: Sabfoil released Medusa Pro wings 699, 769, 869

Btw maybe offtopic,
but I always mount my foil with a layer acrylic tape in between fuselage, this way to ensure a perfect fit, as tape can slightly deform and compressed. A kind of zero degree shim :)

The leading edges should be woven and manufactured like a 3d hose, without sewing, which is the weak spot.

Re: Windrange on foil - what kite to get?

my gong strutless with new briddle have same but very ocassionaly, but only under explosive heavy loads. It is due to kites load distribution, briddled forward on LE and big change in AOA. All is compromise, the benefits are better flying up, more depower, faster turning kite. So pump it hard....

Re: Bar for foiling

@Turbani

thin line are more sharp, but I never touch lines, or take down kites by hand retc.
Basically the splice are strong.
But on core bar, the high V sleeved to go true stainless rings, thin line cut true Dacron/Polyester sleeve more easily, it has higher pressure/surface.

Re: Bar for foiling

I foil for for several years with braidtech 300kg 99kg, front and rear.I totally recommend light weight lines. They just last and hold on, without much wear or downsides. I fly 24m lines, I can generate good sweep for starting, and in case of drift more time for mistakes. Only thing thin lines have ...

Re: New kite gear from Gong

Nice, I like GONG beacuse they are a no bullshit company. They just state all the materials used, and reasoning behind, the thicknes of TPU, the Weight of Dacron etc. Quality / life of a GONG kite is just good, nothing wrong. I just hope they rework again, the strutless kite series, I have spend tre...
