Re: The worlds youngest kiteboarder?

This is George Ibanez at age 2, in Paracas, Peru. At this age he would cry if I did not let him try steping on a surfboard with his trainer kite. In March 2020, at age 3, he was finally going a few meters, unhooked, on his surfboard, looping his kite. He is now 5 and beginning to use a twintip. Geor...

Re: Paracas, Peru

Just come to Paracas in the Cruz del Sur bus. While here, you can stay in Santo Domingo. The Villa Kite house is a amazing vacation rental with a kite beach and lap pool, for just about $130 night. You can also stay 3km away in town and walk to the kite spot, or use mototaxis. Be careful with the fo...

Atomo: The kitesurfer dog!

Here is an everlasting tribute to our dogs in Paracas, Peru. Atomo was born in our villa, and since little was surrounded by water, kites, boards and nice people. His mother, Duma, had learned to waterski on a SUP with us, and Atomo followed the same route. Eventually he became addicted to kitesurfi...

Dakine freedom spreader bar pad. Like it?

Have you injured your ribs with a spreader bar? like this new Dakine spreader bar pad trend with less protection. The 2013 and earlier were just fine. Who likes it?

Kitesurfing accident stat against piers or similar obstacles

Our kiteboarding beach in Paracas Bay, Peru, is threatened by pier constructions. One is already under way where kitesurfing instruction takes place. It is a precedent for other piers to be built, particularly by new hotels opening in the area. Does anyone have kitesurfing accident statistics agains...

Don´t forget to take at least a springsuit if going to Lobitos (full wetsuit from April to November). You usually have the Humbolt (cold water) current in Lobitos.

As posted below, the Reserva Nacional de Paracas could be fun too (km245 south of Lima). Wind year round.

Have fun!

Thank you for the honest feedback. My girlfriend has been wanting to get rid of it. We will put in 4-line mode (Red Briddle) and place it for sale. In the meantime I will give it a last shot. Luckily, she didn´t pay full price. Yes, I am a SS Fuel advocate and have been waiting for the 2008 ...

jzkbnm, You would not be overpowered at 16-18kns on the 13m the sweet-spot for you would be about 15-19 I reckon. You could ride from 11/14 and up to 20/21 but it would not be as nice as when you're in the sweet spot. I always go on the 9M 20kns+ Thank you guys! I weigh 75kg and this interesting to...

Which is the best way to ride the 9.0m Link: 4 or 5- line?

Hi, My grilfriend is trying to learn to kite with a 9m Link. The kite is briddled 5-line and tends to drop from the sky, and is complicated to bring out of the water for it tends to fly inverted. I am an experienced Fuel kiter and find it complicated myself. I have to be careful not to drop the kite...
