Re: Dice SLS 13 lightwind Foil and boosting performance

I cant comment on the SLS as I only have standard. But as a seasoned Dice rider I can say that the kite doesn't really come alive until its well powered up. Its a fantastic kite to be absolutely lit to the max on, but just doesn't really click in light wind. When rigging I consider my Dice to be a s...

Re: If I owned Woo

When they get the production issues sorted I would guess they will build up some volume before they start charging a small monthly fee or something. I think Surfr are working on a 'Pro' version of the app to monetize their work, not sure what features it will have above the standard version, but I ...

Re: A question about air deflate from kite

I get made fun of a lot, because I fold the tips together and then roll the kite up towards the center. I also use this technique, and the locals at my beach always give me a funny look when I'm doing it. I actually packed away a mates kite like this when he left it on the beach after changing down...

Re: CrazyFly Sick bar 2021 Falling apart mid jump - warning

Ouch that sounds a horrible accident, I'm just back on the water after 6 weeks with two slightly cracked ribs (9.5m late backroll, got disorientated and looped when I meant to helli), so cant imagine how shit you must feel now.

Best of luck with your recovery!

Re: Slingshot Machine V1 big air kite 2022

Wow, they resurrected the Machine (weird to call it V1 though)! I had a 17.5 Machine back in 2006ish that I called The Tractor, cos it was ugly, slow and took forever to turn, but it pulled like a bastard all day long! It had weird half length struts where the second half was a fibre glass batten!

Re: UK wind this year....

South Wales: Been demonstrably shit this year too. Last year kited 72 days, this year so far 31... No other change in availability or circumstances, actually last year I was off the water for 10 weeks due to the first lockdown and subsequent gardening back injury. Just returned from a semi annual ki...

Re: Bad news, prices are going up

I introduce you to Core, renewing their line up every couple of year and also the most expensive brand. I wasn't actually aware established any kite brand did this yet, but then I only really look at new kites every 4-5 years when I'm ready to upgrade. Of course a companies savings on not doing a n...

Re: Bad news, prices are going up

Kite companies would probably save a load of money if they didn't insist on having a whole line up of new gear every year. Lets face it, its mostly minor tweaks and colour / graphic changes at this stage.
