Re: Pocket board building

I would recommend only using catbon on top of board (tension skin) and only glass on bottom surface (compression skin). But it is not allways that the top of the board is only under tension, is it? I heard of many reports that the board broke while hitting the water hard at tuchdowns. In this case ...

Re: Levitaz Cruizer fastners

What kind of a torque spanner are you using? Thanks! A friend has a maybe pretty old one for his Levitaz with the form of a ratchet spanner but very small and without any moving parts, but not sure if stainless. As far as seen it is made of a flexible lever you bend and a fixed needle that showes o...

Re: Levitaz Cruizer fastners

Jaros Please accept my apologies, I wrote the above as if I was talking to a completely green beginner, I can be dumb that way! I have since seen some of your posts and realise that is far from the case. Again my apologies! Regards Herman No worries Herman! :D Your post was informative and far from...

Re: Levitaz Cruizer fastners

Jaros If you are going to follow Horst Sergio's excellent advice it should not matter what torque spanner you use as 9Nm is always 9Nm, and there are plenty of torque wrenches with a standard drive. However, you should bare in mind how the fastner is lubricated. You will achieve more strain with a ...

An alternative that works well is this spray. https://www.rustoleum.ca/product-catalog/consumer-brands/epoxyshield/concrete-accessories-and-additives/anti-slip One busy season on a pocket board with many sessions and still good as new. Great find! That i should try. Hope i will find some in Europe....

Re: Levitaz Cruizer fastners

Hi Herman, I use Cruizer and other Levitaz wings since they exist, about 100 times a year and 10% in salt water, jumping a lot and change or open wings screws every 1 - 10th sessions. Since 3 years since I use torx screws and a torque spanner I have no problems with loosening or hard to loose screw...

Re: Peel-ply finish

I've only done one board this way. I degassed the resin, poured it on, diagonally brushed it out and then laid peel ply down, using squeegee to get it even. Important to have no wrinkles/folds in peelply. It works great. Light, cheap and let's the deck show! But I have noticed that my wetsuit boot ...

Re: Peel-ply finish

I have had good results on CF with a flat surface as follows: iron the peel ply so it is completely wrinkle free; mask the board around the perimeter of the grippy area; place the peel ply over the area; apply epoxy over the top of the peel ply and ensure it is completely wetted and there are no bu...
