Re: 2019 Watches

I had an Ambit3 - but too much tech for me.... not a cheaper alternative, but I prefer my Seiko Prospex Darth Tuna any day

Cabrinha X:Breed Foil

Does anyone know if the track on an X:Breed Foil (board) are compatible with a Moses Onda Kite 91 Mast (MM091 Mast Fluente).

Many thanks

Re: Old/Ancient gear - what is it good for?

I used my Naish Flash 4'10 the other day and was blown away by how fast it is - so much faster than anything else short of my Aguera Kite Slalom Board. A great board, fast for boosting and still loose enough for waves. V tempted to get a carbon custom replica made !

Re: Essaouira with the Mrs

Moulay is awesome - but be on your A game, as the waves can be well over head high & very punchy - be very careful atlow tide, as there is a very large bolder that gets exposed & terrified me on a bottom turn. Sidi Kaoke to the South of Essaouira is my favourite spot, it works as a point to beach br...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

I did a comparison between the current Contact V4 QR (a brand new/unused bar) with the previous QR and the new version requires far less force to open the QR - to the point that the older design requires definite effort to open, whereas the new QR opens without any effort at all. Someone mentioned t...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

Would be interested to see if there is a sensible way to prevent an involuntary release with the "new" ozone QR - RL's crash & injury look awful. It is admirable that he has suggested the accident was his fault, but for me having watched the video, I would have hoped the system would have required m...

Re: Saunton Beach death

RIP.... thoughts & prayers to family & friends. As noted, wait for the coroner's report.... but even then, it is unlikely the full details will ever be established. On high wind days, check prevailing & forecast conditions at your spot & surrounding upwind spots, gusts, water temp/conditions, triple...

Re: Accident at Kite Beach, Bloubergstrand, South Africa

Each to their own re wetsuits - when I went (a loong time ago) a 3/2 shorty was toasty. As for accidents, as noted before, newbies to the beaches be careful as the intensity/density of the wind is incredible - a mate's brother is an orthopaedic surgeon and is kept very busy with an operating theater...

Re: How to self launch a kite

As you say, nice video & I'm sure that is fine for hydro-foiling (i.e. lighter winds), but for me 12m means 20-25knots and a kite held with a tiny sand bag would disappear off down wind
