Re: Foil Gybe Advice

In a different thread (Armstrong vs Axis) advice was a different foil would Not allow for rapid progression such as this. I'm stuck in touch down gybe mode. For me that's the current and elusive goal. Yes, time on the water is probably the main limitation. Any feedback on equipment (specifically fo...

Re: Foil Gybe Advice

Slight thread hijack... What is the trick to high(er) speed gybes? For relatively sedate speeds, I can gybe fine. However, if I'm cruising along and want to do a sudden direction change I always outrun my kite especially in lower (10kt) winds. Do I just have to lean harder into the turn to tighten ...

Re: 32" Mast vs. 36" Mast ; Which is Better?

Shorter is stiffer, quicker turning, start in shallower water, a slight bit less drag when starting, a tad easier to maneuver into place, a little quicker to push over when starting from the side, less distance to fall, lighter, easier to put away, Longer will get above the chop more, less likely to...

Re: Firewire Hydroshort kite version

I´m pretty sure Vader and Hydroshort is too similar / too much overlap. I have a Vader 5.1 and a Duotone Pro Wam 5.10. For me, these boards perfectly complement each other. Vader for tricks and small waves (chest hight maybe), the ProWam for larger waves. In larger waves you (I) really want that st...

Try onshape

Free and cloud based
I have tried onshape some months ago on a quite old ipad. It´s really cool. Just lost interest because I have SolidWorks here (and no time to play) :D

Micha
Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of solid works but the workflow is better. Less clicking.

Re: Duotone 2021

https://www.duotonesports.com/booklet/Diversity_Magazine/ In the latest duotone diversity magazine, Page 80 there is a nice discussion about lightweight kites and some of the efforts by duotone. Including mention of testing new materials that manufacturers are offering, possibly because of aluula c...

Re: Firewire Hydroshort kite version

I can give you some perspective. I have a 4th 10” evo helium construction. I’ve ridden a 5’ 1” Vader in LFT. I have a 5’ 6” slingshot celeritas and a loyd custom 5’ 6”. I am not an aerial trickster, but would say the shorter stubbier Vader and evo would be better for that. The hydroshort is I believ...

Re: Firewire Hydroshort kite version

The board is a hoot. I just got my 5’ 4” hydroshort. Weighed in at just under 2.3 kg, naked. It planes up like a bigger board and shoots upwind. Has really good drive and while not as slashy as the evo, it can still pivot around off a face. Rode it in sloppy wind swell with an occasional south swell...

Re: Foilholio wants to destroy kiteforum - any help to stop him appreciated

In your signup ask an authorisation question when signing up about kiting.. that only a kiter would know. A simple quick and easy start, then make limit on time and quantity of posts... eg max 4 per 24 hours.. Start there. Then move onto a more time consuming captcha for sign up Well foilholio does...
