Is foiling really that hard?

Re: Bladders in foils

Was using the land version of the Mosquito Pro foils in the buggy for a couple years when I started kitesurfing. Learned on the 5.5 and 4m, with quad handles. Only had to swim once or twice. I recently sold the 9m and 12m Marabous. Just too much grunt and not enough speed for the foil, but they were...

Re: Lift 170 classic/fish feedback?

As they don't make the fish anymore, I would suggest the 170Surf. Very similar feel and more stable at speed than the fish.

When I had the fish, there were no issues of durability. I never noticed any flex in the tail, but I never pump.

Re: Lift 150 or 170

If you fly to la ventanna, consider the travel size of the classics. The 150 surf might be a good compromise between the two, and better packability.

Re: Lift 170 Classic harmonics

Apply tape to the suspect sections you think might be causing the humming. It will make the foil fly like s@it, but it will isolate the cause.

I have the 170 classic and the 170 surf, and the only noise I've had was from a 34 tail. Took a lot of sharpening to get rid of it.

Re: Kitech FRS

Does anyone know of a e-mail adress other than "order@kitechkites.com" to use. Have waited since the 6th of December, just to get a price on a 6m FRS. Haven"t heard back yet... Difficult when you want to buy a new kite now, lol this is what a few days without wind does. 6 m kite only 960 Euro, 6m k...

Re: Kitech FRS

Considering the wind it is flown in, the forward speed and turning speed is tame. Still turns tight due to it's size, but you don't have to have any higher reflexes to handle it in higher winds. Kites that fly like this are rare I have found in 32 years of kiting. I'll take a picture of it inflated ...

Re: position tsrapless board with just legs - no hands.

If the front straps are a V you might be able to rig a strap accross the front inserts to have a strap orthogonal to the centre line just to help with positioning. No experience with that just think I have heard of it being done. That is what I have set up, a length of 3/4 inch wide strapping acros...

Re: Loss of Lift

And the winner for the most turbulent water we will cross is from another foil, or your own if you are going in circles. Amazing how long that turbulence lasts in the water.

Re: Kitech FRS

I fly my 6m FRS anytime the wind is 15mph, with lulls not below about 12mph. Really fun kite, very stable, not super fast (but fast enough for the foil). My favorite kite to fly. Usually 21m lines, but 17m work fine if the lulls are not too light.
