bridle lines were tangled (kite tip stalled) but I did not pull on the lines... I knew they were fragile...
Even the shop owner was surprised to see the tear...
Honestly, hearing these sorts of stories about ram airs is really horrifying.

Re: Ram air first session damage

I’m not surprised. I had a Chrono V1 tear itself apart due to bridle failure which was a known recall and still Ozone wouldn’t repair. Had the kite shop do it and still had to pay for the shipping to Vietnam. Took about a month and a half. Unfortunately there are MANY similar stories about ram air ...

Re: Ram air first session damage

Unfortunately your experience with RAM AIR DISASTERS is all too common. Here are some similar disasters: REPAIRS & COMPLEXITY Ram airs are shockingly complex. They have over 1000 parts, many of which require regular tweaking e.g. http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2374470 Ram air repairs a...

Re: Foilholio wants to destroy kiteforum - any help to stop him appreciated

Foolkookio is a notorious ram lover. His constant pro ram air lies and propaganda, under a variety of pseudonyms, was a sight to behold. Eventually his underlying kookiness spilled-over into outright slander and invective. I DO wonder if ram-loving weirdness is part of a bigger problem, i.e. There m...

Re: Exploding lines. Anyone had this happen? (picture in post)

Unfortunately, this is a common problem with ram air kites like Flysufer. Flysurfer has known about their EXPLODING KITES for almost 20 years, but has been unable to rectify the inherent flaws in ram air kites that lead to this happening. e.g. https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=4612 Please do you...

What did foilholio do? I mean to sue somebody. Foolkookio was a notorious ram lover. His constant pro ram air lies and propaganda, under various avatars, upset MANY people. Eventually his underlying kookiness spilled-over into outright slander and invective. I DO wonder if ram-loving weirdness is p...

100% agree. I'm really sick of ram lovers and their constant propaganda.

Re: Foil kites on wet beaches

In my experience foil kites would start showing signs of age at 100 hours. LEI kites are still going strong at over 200 hours. Inflatables have a vastly superior lifespan cf ram airs After several weeks of use, ram air bridles typically stretch and deform, further compromising aerodynamic performan...

Re: Foil kites on wet beaches

Ram airs are INFERIOR in wet conditions. Ram riders describe flying wet ram air kites like flying a wet sleeping bag in the air. Other ram lovers say they have similar problems in heavy rain and in surf with spray. Ram airs become wet, heavy, difficult to steer, and just downright dangerous when lau...

Re: LEI vs Foil Kite Vertical Boosting

Very informative, I'm waiting for PMU to settle this question with logic, science and a view point detached from personal bias and hype. Thanks for the invitation to speak on this topic. Ram air kites ("foils") are grossly INFERIOR compared to inflatables for vertical boosting. As previous posters ...
