Any tips for getting back up after sitting while foiling?

I rarely nail it without a touch down or a crash.
Which foot first? Anything with the kite?

Re: Beginner need advice choosing kitefoil

"very cheap" and "I want to start kitefoiling" arent exactly the most compatible of words. ...unless your goal is to crash your way downwind...and then carry all that weight back up the beach over and over personally, if you want to save money.. try to buy a quality surf style foil off the used mar...

Re: Beginner need advice choosing kitefoil

I advise a 1000sqm to 1200sqm for your weight
Smaller wings will require speed to be stable, this means turning with speed. Liquid force impulse is worked well for beginners here

Re: Unpredictable foil injury

It looks like you were travelling fairly fast and that it was pretty windy. My experience of learning to go downwind is getting a big surf wing so you can travel at slower speeds and a strutless kite for light wind makes it alot easier. I would definitely get a foot hook, whether your strap contrib...

Re: Groove Skate "Creaking"

When I had this sound it was due to foil nut mounted tight enough, either wings to fuselage or fuselage to mast bolts allowing some movement under load

Re: Learning foot switch, sea level first?

Given the topic talks about "Learning to foot switch" I assume the actual gybe is not an issue. I like to differentiate between "surface" moves and "touch down" moves. Surface moves are where you bring the board down onto the surface. Do the move. Ride off and back up onto the foil. Touch down move...

Learning foot switch, sea level first?

Do you think beginners that use a surf wing should first learn to switch foot on sea level first? Maybe it'll be easier for them to use the technique in which you direct thr foil up, put the back foot at the front and then the front one at the back, that's because the upward movement of the foil all...

it has almost nothing to do with board and all to do with foil
Yeah, light foil won't rotate the board, heavier one is more likely to rotate it

The KS 37 is the best free ride board currently available. (based on my experience with and everything I have read).
Do you think a larger board is needed in the quiver for 8-10 knots sessions? (Cloud 10.4)
