Re: How to describe the windstrength

Alrighty kjorn, cheers. :naughty: Kinda on this topic ... when someone says he takes his 9 in 20 to 30 knots, does that mean with or without the gusts? Describing wind strength by kite size is a kooky thing. It's 20 kn gust 25 and my very experienced pal is on a 4m on a surfboard, I'm on a 9m on a ...

"Flex tape" brand as substitute for tear-aid?

I can get "Flex tape" brand repair tape (flexsealproducts.com), less easy access to Tear-Aid type A. Does anyone have experience of Flex tape for canopy and bladder repairs? Thanks

Re: How long should kite lines last?

It depends a lot on type of line. I've had North lines break on me twice (I didn't die... but never used a North as front line after the 2nd snap) Using maybe 100 sessions/year... Been using Q-Power lines for fronts for last 15 years. I have a set of q-power pro that I retired after 10 solid years (...

Re: Make launching a kite safer

always interesting to read opinions if we meet somewhere i'll be glad to discuss the subject around a beer. Are you the person who made the "Quand se hooker?" video? Thanks very much, great video and I'm sure it will help to reduce launch accidents. You already made a few safety videos, please do m...

It's not called upper crossed syndrome... it's called waist harness syndrome, my-harness-is-under-my-armpits syndrome, etc.

Re: Kiting Naz

Not to take anything away from the achievement, but I think the post title is correct - someone went kiting in Nazare, near, in front of, behind and around 20m waves... not on 20m waves. Nice video though

Re: Twintip for choppy water

It’s all very subjective but I’ve demo’ed an OR Mako and thought it was a complete dog of a board. Can’t think of anything good to say about it, not even that good in chop as it’s just far too cumbersome. Love my Lieuwe board in all conditions. It's fine if you don't like the Mako, just a note that...

Re: North Jaime 2018 vs CrazyFly Raptor 2019

You Sir, are looking for a Shinn Monk? Dear kf community. I`m standing here with quite messed up head. I`d like to change my board (trax sixth 132x38 currently). I`m thinking about two options. 2018 North Jaime 133x40 or 2019 CrazyFly Raptor 132x41. What I`m interesed in, is to have great rail, lock...

Re: shinn insert spacing

Dundee (I forgot which year, the first year it came out), speedball 2013 and 2014 (the winged type)
I remember quite a few posts on seabreeze.com.au about naish apex on Shinn boards, that's where I got the idea to try it and it fit perfectly on my boards.
