Re: Small boards are often crap....

Interesting topic! Im 75 kg. Foils: SAB W800, SAB BM799 Below my board volume history and impressions. 1. In June 2021 I started with a 140 l board I could borrow. 2. After 3 times I bought a SAB98 liter. Found it much easier to gibe and overall handling than the 140 l board 3. Sold it after using ...

Re: Fone Strike Wing Review

Ridden both S wing and Strike. Had a full quiver of Swings, loved them but they had some quirks. Changed to another brand of gen 2 wings which are much stiffer and more powerful than S wing. More technical to fly but offer more to an experienced winger. Recently rode a Strike. It’s a nice wing, has ...

Re: Off shore winds, yes or no?

If you have experience, have a board that will float you and are patient you will almost always find there is gust that allows you to ride close enough to the beach to paddle the rest of the way in. You've just got to be prepared to cruise around waiting for the right gust. Light winds more dodgy th...

Re: Sonic or Soul for foiling progresion

no question, for your level a Soul is way better. A harder kite wont make you progress, only hold you back. I have had both Souls and now Sonics. Have had all the ozone foil kites over time too. 12 Soul is waaaaay better than hyperlink. Relaunch very easy, you will get the confidence to go much furt...

Any reviews of Levitaz Aspect 2 foil?

Title says it all, I like to push for speed and freerace style. Not much info about this foil out there. Would probably look at it with 95cm mast.

Re: Moses 1000 vs Fone Phantom 1480

Ok maybe it’s a typo but the housekeeping said you were comparing at 72cm Moses vs an 85 cm FOne mast. 13cm makes quite a bit of difference to the way a foil feels. Probably won’t change speed and glide much but carving and reactivity and pumping will be different. But thanks for the review.

Re: Winging with knee replacements

There are some older guys who use boards they can stand up on and pull the wing up on its leash like you would on a big windsurfer. Some of the bigger Naish boards seem OK for that. Try it on yours. You lose a little performance but what the heck. You're still having fun.

do you think the difference in mast length influenced your opinions between the two?

Re: Any review of the all carbon F-One Phantom 1280

Slyfe, can I ask what is it in the Axis alu that you would like to change to carbon, please? The Mast. I ride the 90cm 19mm aluminium mast. Its very stiff and rides very nicely and excellent for SUP foil but I would like to get more speed out of my wing setup. Axis make alot of nice foil wings and ...

Re: Who are the Wing foilers ?

Yeah agree with Peter, it’s technique dependent too. With practice you can drop your low end to sub 10 knots with a 6. A 5 will get you going in 14 knots no problem with a bunch of different size foils once you know how.
