Re: 2013 Ocean Rodeo Razor

You could maybe argue that the Razor prior to 2013 would back stall unhooked if not trimmed correctly but the 2013 simply will not in my experience. Even unhooked in underpowered conditions when the mere act of popping seems the slow the kite down so much it should back stall it has not. Unhooked is...

Re: ocean rodeo cypher

Second what others have said here. I have both the cypher and the razor. Cypher is very stable, no back stall, good drift. Hooked in functions like a standard SLE with plenty of depower and lots of hang time. Unhooked feels very much like a C - stable, predictable pull. As others have said turns fas...

Can't saw versus Wainman but as for the Styx I've got the 138 x 42 and love it.

Re: 2011 Ocean Rodeo line-up - new additions!

Finally have had about 6-7 sessions on the 10m Razor Here are my thoughts....based on 195lb/88kg rider on a 138/42 board. 1. Low End = Ridiculous. 2 of my sessions were in conditions I would not normally have ridden in, with light 14-15 knot winds. 10m got me up and staying upwind. Power felt very i...

Re: Kite for a giant...like 120kg! Please help!

Try a Rise 14 or 16 - they pull like trucks but will turn like a much smaller kite. Built more for a heavier rider than a light wind kite for the lighter bunch.

Re: 2010 Ocean Rodeo Rise 11m review (final proto)

Finally got to log about 10 hrs on the 2010 Rises in the past week or so. Rode a 12, 10 and 8 in winds from 14 to 30 knots and all I can say is the 2010 Rise Rocks! On the beach the obvious changes are removal of the center strut - the 6 strut design has smaller struts but the connections and one pu...

Re: Long Distance Boards????

Definitely consider / try the Mako King. Super comfy - rides really well in both TT and mutant modes so you can switch things up to prevent fatigue. (I'm riding with the king sorta in between the two modes and it works great). Screams up wind, even at the low end (if have found if my kite can fly, I...

Re: More medical advice please .... : )

Got to agree with Neil here. Navicular fractures require strict adherence to non weight bearing as directed by your physician and are at higher risk for non/mal-union (failure of the bone to heal/fuse). MRI may be your best bet for diagnosis at this point. Some pain 5 months out is not necessarily u...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Session 2 Harness review?

I love this harness! Previously i had worn Liquid force, mystic warrior (chafe from hell), and dakine pyro. Recently got the session and won't go back. I have only ridden it in waist mode but the thing is super comfy, loads of support, doesn't ride up and I no longer need a rash guard to kite withou...
