vacuum ... or something else

Warning, a lot of stupid random thoughts ahead. So, I don't want to buy a vacuum pump to vac-bag my parts. I only make a wing or two a year. And my house is small so I don't have anywhere to keep all this stuff. I have been using a hand pump, a car brake-bleed vacuum pump. It's a pain to use, but it...

Re: 3D Printed Wings - please post your experiences here

My wing is printed. I want to laminate and vacuum bag it, would you wrap the 3D print in carbon wrapping it around the leading edge. Or would you put one layer on the top and another on the bottom, vacuum, then trim the seams off after? My previous wing (plywood core) split along the seam and opened...

Re: How to describe the windstrength

Fuckin howling man, like my hair was all like WooOOoOOo and the tea was blown right out of my mug. I took my pants off and they flew into a tree. Man. You missed it. It was epic. Bleddy epic, man.

Re: 3D Printed Wings - please post your experiences here

What software are you using? I've tried SketchUP and it works OK for building a wing, but I can't figure out how you punched square holes through the wing? Could you give me some tips please :) Second question, did you do anything to the surface of the wing before laminating it? I am thinking of dri...

Re: Rear stabilizer

Does anyone have any advice on stabiliser wing design? I'm about to 3D print one and try it out, but I'm trying to decide between the one above or one where the profile is facing down.

Are there any plans out there for front and back wings?

Re: Storm Hannah

Got out yesterday, pretty gusty but a nice direction for me. Had some sketchy ass-dip-slow-down gusts come through. Got some speed and hit a nice kicker, felt good for about half a second but then it just felt weird. Kite wasn't really pulling right, it was waaaay too far over one side of the window...

Re: Hey surfers whats the difference betwen swollow tail, V tail and regular?

Big wave guns are narrow tails, your foot is quite a long way forward of the tail. Small mushy wave boards are wider and are square tail or swallow tail to loosen them up. Helps move the rear of the board closer to your back foot without the board sinking. Small (6-7 foot) pin tails are old school c...

Using it for second season, some wear but still holding up. Cut mine into hexagonal shapes to make it look pretty.

Re: Rear stabilizer

I knocked one up in SketchUp today: rear-wing-1.1.PNG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JZ-0lPQuno I haven't tried to print it or use it. I DO ride with a rear wing exactly the same outline, zero AoA, a symmetrical profile made from plywood. It works great. I've attached the .skp file (in the zip fil...
