Re: Woo Screen App - real time jump display

You should set up a website that all the sessions will be uploaded to. The Woo app doesn't do a very good job of collating all the sessions into interesting categories. If I don't kite for a day I miss the nice emails that get sent out. You could have real time updates during a session. If me and my...

Thinner will fly better
In your imagination this happens. In real life - no.

Now, please provide some evidence that a super thin LE flies better.

I can't respect why tube kites all look so similar. You could use a far more elaborate bridle and have a LE so much thinner. Kite would challenge Aluula.
Thin tube requires much higher pressure. Also changes the flight characteristics.

GoPro mounts for surfing

I took my GoPro out with a mouth mount in failry large surf. The waves look tiny. I'm always dissapointed with what my footage looks like. How can I improve it? Do backpack mounts work? Board mounts? Or is GoPro footage always going to be boring?

Re: Tarp kite challenge

I made an LEI out of tarp. It flew fine for a couple of sessions but it soon stretched and became crap. Invest in some better material, then you can use it more than once! Used ripstop is almost free (old kites and sails)

North/Duotone PIQ owners...

Check your bungie cord. My PIQ fell out yesterday and I lost it to the ocean.

Today I was looking at a club PIQ that hasn't been used much and the bungie cord is much much stronger. I guess mines been out in the elements for a couple of years and the elastic had gone...

So check and replace.

Re: Handy tricks you only found after beginner lessons

Put a little de-power in the kite when the wind is lite or marginal. It prevents you from over sheeting and stalling the kite when the bar is all the way in. It’s counter intuitive....and most beginners trim for full power or mistakenly use the short knot(more power) on the wing tip. Sheet in when ...

Re: Measuring jump height in a new way

Have you ever feel like one day the numbers were quite higher than expected, kind of a hold-up, and some other time, deceptively low according to the feeling. The local guys have found ways that force the device to work better. Doing a deadman 'flick' at the apex of the jump gives a much larger rea...

Should be quite easy to calculate then should it? Rate of climb x time?
That's what the accelerometer does on the board.

I do wonder if we could strap a sensor to the kite and measure that.

GNSS is accurate to 50cm (if I recall correctly) but it takes a while to get an accurate reading.

Re: Woo Sports Updates?

Its a new device, to pick up a current woo feature... these woo readouts are available on the apple watch and other smart watches. Is it available for a Samsung Galaxy watch? There is no official WOO app for Samsung Galaxy watches, but I might write one if have time. I'm currently finishing app for...
