Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

If anyone in the states wants to try mono foiling on a proven wing I have available a reflex wing on a slingshot 30 inch mast, $150 plus shipping, board is available if someone is local to South Texas, my season is coming to an end and I don't need more than one monofoil,. Video of some of my first ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

John flies his 5m peak 4 as his go-to kite and now only flies cloud D 10m when it's super light, My go-to kite is the ozone uno 6m. And Ozone hyperlink 7m for light wind. The cloud D's are nicer than the c2 but they now only get flown when our launch is a muddy mess and we don't want to trash our fa...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Bagged out cloud 7m c2 on foil is pretty much the same as 5m peak 4 for upwind, cloud 8m D series pretty close to same power as 5m peak4 ( at least we fly them both in the same wind for freestyle foiling and wave foiling) . Upwind with a hydrofoil is very close to the D series clouds, not enough dif...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Funny, reelbars have been around almost from the beginning of kiteboarding. https://goo.gl/images/EXHqTA These were mostly for 2 line kites although I converted one to 4 line, the problem with them was when the kite was down and lines slack you couldn't keep equal line tension while reeling the line...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Finally had two days average 10 knts on 7 m ozone hyperlink to compare three wings, the first wing I made I modified to have some minor reflex and changed from flat bottom to semi semetrical, this improved pitch stability. The second wing with reflex I did not change and is still best all around. Th...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Interesting I have always felt FLS to be wingspan +. Overall given the infrequent use of a safety, plus complication of a stopper and added risk in tangles it is not worth using one. I feel when a safety is used it should have the greatest chance of working. When I release a kite I often release th...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Yes, mast further rear of wing is what I meant, maybe bad choice of words in first post.

I have made a third wing from what I learned from the first two, bad weather here so not able to test yet.
