Re: Fuerteventura Questions

Agree, I would rent a car. Just to go from Corralejo to Flag Beach can be a long walk depending on where you are in the city. Cars are very cheap over there - well, at least they were 3 years ago. In July, you should have plenty of wind. Sotavento blows usually stronger but it's a hell of a gusty ar...

Re: Kitesurfing is cheap and not dangerous

Totally agree with BWD: you can have 90% of the fun for less than 1000K no problem. Of course, if you want to ride those world class DH courses on a 5K bike 3 times a week, that could be less. But mountain bike is much more than that - and that can be fun too at a much lesser price.

I haven't tried it myself but there is a post on a Spanish forum: Maybe the person speaks English - or you speak Spanish.

You can also try and ask on (it's an international forum dedicated to foils).

Re: Rethinking large kites

Not true - biplanes are hardly used anymore, and they DONT have the double amount of lift, so it is a reminiscence from "old days" and poor build techniques, and because of looks mostly (or only) biplanes exist now. That's a bit harsh :o

Re: To California Kiters : help, need for Travel info

Hey John Is "The Delta" the lake/reservoir that's close to Byron? I used to fly airplanes out of Tracy - way before I started kiting - and now that I no longer live in the BA and started kiting, I always wondered if that place was kiteable. Sorry Fabrizio for the hijacking but it could be useful to ...

Re: Liquid Force Twinskim vs ???

I understand you are after a twin type skim, but if you're willing to fool around with shutits or jibes, a regular skim is just as good as a kite branded skim: Zap, Victoria, Exile, etc all make skims that fit kiting perfectly and cheaper (around $250). I have been using my Zap Pro Medium for 2 year...

Re: Barcelona in December?

There's no wind guarantee in Barcelona at this time of the year (well, there's little guarantee in general in this area). If you are willing to travel 250 km north, you have Leucate where there's more chance to have wind but those winds are very strong and gusty (usually around 30-40 kts) and the wa...

Re: Riding in Offshore Wind

I would add - don't go further than you feel confortable going back swimming - even though this rule applies to any condition, it's even more important here - be ready to ditch your rig should a line fail or your kite crash with little option for a relaunch - quick decision making if you your rig fa...
