Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Nah, same upwind performance as a typical wave LEI kite (My findings with foil and surfboard / skimboard, compared to Cabrinha drifters). it just takes a number of sessions to really get that point of best upwind / sheating on the peak. Poor upwind compared to closed cell foil kites, definitely. Bu...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Are we talking about poor upwind performance compared to an Lei kite with a foil, or poor upwind performance compared to an Lei kite with a TT or SB? I am talking about peak 4 versus lei wave kite on hydrofoil 1125 cm2, 90 kg rider. at lower end of wind range of kite on the lei wave kite I could le...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I would love to see anyone talking on the low wind topic to post their weight and wing size. I think we all could then have a more meaningful dialog. yes, I am getting the feeling that rider weight makes a big difference to the Peak 4 At the low end of the kite range, I find I cannot lean the hydro...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I agree with Kitedougiefresh 100 %. I love light wind foiling (this is what we have in Florida all summer). My UL Pulsion 12m is great for that condition, accelerating very well, going upwind excellent…but doing transition in very light wind (7 to 9mph) is difficult and require good timing. Everyth...

I'm pretty sure i can already see a bit of the limitations of the 11 for riding waves. The 8 has some, maybe, but not as obvious. The 5 is still the best size in my opinion, and it gets going in surprisingly light wind.
are the limitations lack of drift or something else?

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I have had a few sessions on a 3m and a 5m. I am using a 120 cm board, surf foil at 1125 cm2 and 90 kg. Rather than talk wind speeds I would like to compare to my three strut wave lei’s The 5m peak 4 has the same preferred wind range as my 9m wave lei The 3m peak 4 has the same preferred wind range ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

The bottom end limit of the Peak is typically how much pull you can get out of it to get your ass off the water, and for that matter the size of the wing doesn't really make much of a difference. Once you're up on the board, a larger wing will allow to lift off without requiring subsequent loops, b...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Doesn't make sense....that's way more wind...13sec into the video you see someone riding a TT or surfboard on a LEI kite..... I have Peak 4 in 4m, 5m and 8m and can use the 8m from maybe 10kts, the 5m from 13kts and the 4m from 16kts. Sometimes I have to loop the kite several times to get onto the ...

Re: New hydrofoil / wave kite and bar: Kauper-XT

looks good

my concern would be line wrap around bar ends, given no floaties
