Re: My experiences with some Gong foilwings

Thought I would add a couple comments as a long time Gong foil user. Aside from the classic front foil to fuselage connection issues (for the most part easily fixable once you know the tricks), the other thing that you should be careful about is the fragility of the Pro stabilizers. i have just ord...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything...

Winging in stronger winds + waves with a small board & hand wing seems perfect. :thumb: The thing turning me off is the necessity to use a large board, large foil & large wing when learning ... and buying all that stuff and carting it around. My present setup: 100cm board, 1000 sq/cm, foil and 4 ex...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I'm using a Gong Curve M with a 40cm Fast stab. This is a similar shape to the Impulse but a bit smaller and quite a lot thinner, so presumably produces considerably less lift than the Impulse. I also have a more "modern" Gong Fluid MT which I intend to use for comparison. It is higher aspect, thin...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Having foiled almost every day for the last 5 weeks - mostly in reef-break waves - I've had the opportunity to experiment a bit. I have settled on 17m lines for everything other than light wind (less than 13 knots). 20m lines definitely help the low end with the 6m and 5m, but for the most part I h...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Odd? IMO you have a lot less load on the rear lines, using Peak kites, so risk of tennis elbow is a lot lower than any LEI. QR close to your body or not? Does not make any sense, it does not matter. Assume you mean how far away the bar is from your body, as THAT makes sense. I always trim my lines ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Which bar are you using?

[/quote]

I use bars put together from old bar parts. But I use a slider rope and have the quite close in, so my arms are bent quite a lot of the time.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

i have been using the Peak4's a lot recently.

lately I have developed 'kite elbow' and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I guess it it because I often ride for long periods with some pressure on the bar, just enough to reduce the flutter of being sheeted out.
