Re: How travel with wingfoil?

What you will find is that probably the front wing is the biggest, most inconvenient aspect. My car (VW Atlas) has a huge back compartment (surfboard , twintip, fully assembled kitewingfoil board with 101cm mast, 4 kites, wing, 5'10" 105L wingboard w 82cm mast in there at all times) but i found that...

Re: Sore Index Finger

Did your finger issue ever resolve itself? Just starting out and I have the same issue on both hands. Aside from stiff trigger finger , they are also swelling and locking up. Actually I haven't been winging much recently due to lack of wind but I went 2 days ago and I am not noticing much pain. My ...

Re: Tips for Paddling Out Through Inside Surf

turn the board over and get on it. Put your feet on top of the wing behind you and paddle hard. Comit. -- Gunnar Gunnar - are you typically moving your wrist cuff to your ankle or belt leash or do you have a longer wrist leash which allows you to paddle aggressively unencumbered by elastic. F1 stoc...

Re: Tips for Paddling Out Through Inside Surf

Nice, but can not see any "paddle out through inside surf" ? 8) Peter Yet the guy is clearly riding waves.... Perhaps the secret is find a spot where you don't have to paddle through inside surf. I guess this will be my only option when it's gnarly. Either jump off the jetty or find an undertow out...

Re: Buying advice

It's hard to get up on ANY wing/foil setup (Duotone / Gong / Willy Wonka) if it's under 15knots , especially when you are learning. The old adage, you get what you pay for, applies here as well. (disclaimer, I'm ridden North / Duotone since 2002, non - sponsored just from loyalty / satisfaction). I ...

Re: Buying advice

6m is a good size wing and will probably cover you in 15knots to 25 knots. I also am Moses loyal and use 633/483/101 for kitefoiling. The 633 works for winging, but probably will not be ideal for learning. Additionally the wing masts are stiffer than the kite masts. I am using 1100/450/82 and like i...

Tips for Paddling Out Through Inside Surf

I surfing / kiting / winging on the Gulf Coast Panhandle of Florida. Our surf is 100% sand bar beach break. I picked up winging so that I can pull into some outside bombs, but I'm planning strategies for getting out. We typically have an Inside break sandbar (maybe 30m off beach) and an outside sand...

Re: OK setup for a beginner on flatwater?

This is less of a gear recommendation, but an expectation recommendation. You will probably struggle to launch and get on foil in less than 15 knots. You need a lot of wind to wing. Gusty is not a problem because it's so easy to instantly flag the wing, but you will probably find it very frustrating...

Re: Boardbag for Wingboard?

I also have the Armstrong 5'11" bag, which fits my F-One Rocket V2 5'10" perfectly with foil attached. $150 delivered to US. My only complaint is that the long zipper (which is a herringbone zipper which looks like it should be super robust) is super weak and the carriage has pulled off of one side ...
