Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge ... this one sucks.

Oddly enough I kited at Mirlo in a pure North 2 weeks ago and it was fun kiting to the bridge and back. Though it's a short tack some big air folks could provide quite a show for the travelers coming in for vacation!

Re: What the Farmers muck?

Is this just an advertisement for Real? I think it is bizarre that someone who is concerned about a pandemic would be traveling for pleasure. We had a judgment call to make. Myself and my family didn't want to travel but Surf Or Sound refused to give us our money back for an April trip cancelled du...

Re: What the Farmers muck?

I think it relates to kiting, the fact that REAL has in place the most vigorous social distancing and safety guidelines of any place I've seen. I guess I thought it amazing that The REAL kite store was one of the only stores I've visited in Hatteras that is actively trying to keep people safe while...

What the Farmers muck?

Came down to OBX for the millionth time. There is a segment of our population that doesn't care about following rules. While going to the Dollar store in Salvo I saw lots of people going into the store without a mask. The store workers did not enforce the wearing of masks and keeping distance betwee...

Re: Lost foil board in Hatteras

Bump for the floating board. May have gotten hung up in sand and floated back to Rodanthe in SW wind early last week. However since has gone NE again and may be back in Frisco.

Lost foil board in Hatteras

I'm posting for a friend who was kiting out of Waves near Kitty Hawk kites. It was offshore wind (NNE), big spill, and he lost sight of his board and it floated away. He rescued himself and kite but gave the board up as lost forever. He did not have his name or contact info on board. Judging by the ...

Re: My grattitude extended to Toby

Original thread seems still open... Just has Toby's last comment. Seems he's trying to bring it to a close...

Edit - it's "locked" - so it seems readers can still make up their own minds about the controversy.

Re: Anyone back to kiting after lateral meniscus tear in knee?

Since the original post in 2009 that particular knee has never swelled or given me much of any issue. I would say in the last 2 years I can sometimes notice pain at the area where the cartilage is missing but it is mitigated by a little rest and ibuprofen. Keeping body weight down is key as well. I ...
