Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Yeh Bob I'm sorry that you had that happen to you and your wife in 1998 with PowerSki. I have a couple losses that stung and I have learned from them. I'm in a quandary. I want an efoil but will not swing the 10K. But let's say a $5K becomes available (for example the SuperNova). It still would come...

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Bob, Good to hear you are stoked about efoils. What a great toy to bring to OBX for the non-wind days. Just cruise the coastline. I still go back to my thoughts that one must have 2 efoils or a good buddy or partner with one. 2021 Spring will be the dawn IMO. At the new price points more foils will ...

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Yeh I saw that $2k off. A couple interesting notes - In one of the emails I got from Lift they were x2 for $20k if you became a Lift affiliate. i.e. - teach lessons, sell them... So it is obvious the $10K price point still leaves them some profit. Nobody gives their stuff away... I am not one to jud...

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

Hi Flyboy - I actually had an unusual trip this past month in OBX where I jet skied with my friend on the Friday before the house rental. Never done that down there. Jet skiing with a purpose and a buddy is fun. Not everyday fun but once in awhile with a goal of bringing a lunch and going to the san...

Re: Any interest in eeeeee foils?

FlandOBX - I think the role of using the e-foil as a teaching aid for all things foiling will be a definite plus. The ways to learn foiling now are behind a boat, with a kite, with a wing or SUP, pumping and being towed out to waves, and of course windsurfing. All these require lots of gear and/or w...

Any interest in eeeeee foils?

I had a chance to ride the Lift 5' "Sport" with smaller wing in Hatteras and what a great toy for the low wind days. Took me 20 minutes of futzing around with the water start and then I got it. Takeaways are: 1. It seems like 2 are in order in that it's really more fun if a buddy/girlfriend has one ...

Re: learning to foil behind a boat

I started wake foiling seriously 8 weeks ago with my buddy's 5'2" Nobile split board and 24" and 30" mast and relatively small wing (Shinn). I had similar experiences as you but I studied lots of videos and think I can give a good perspective. Last Sunday I also got a chance to foil behind a Malibu ...

Re: Fone Phantom 1080 vs Fone Phantom 1080

The odd thing is I can't find a single link to the Phantom 1080. Is this an "in the know" foil? When you google it the only thing I find is a link back to your 2 threads!

Re: High end foil and board rec for kite/wake crossover

Thanks for info Juan and Bob. Bob - you said you ride a 3'6" dwarf. Do you think something bigger would be better since I'm more of a beginner? I noticed the Armstrong foil chart recommends either a 3'11" or 4'5" for kite/wake... What do you like about the Dwarfs over the Armstrong? My friend also r...

High end foil and board rec for kite/wake crossover

Pretty confident wake foiling on 24" aluminum Shinn mast on Nobile split surf board. My friend loaned it to me this summer due to shoulder injury. I'm 5'8" 165 lbs. I also used my friend's Cabrinha Double Agent with standard free ride foil on a couple kitefoil sessions by my recollection of those se...
