Re: Foilwings and wings used in your country/area

F-One, Duotone, Slingshot, Cabrinha, and Ocean Rodeo are popular on the South Coast here in B.C. I am one of the few Gong guys here though that's changing given their far lower prices even with shipping and brokerage combined with their massive foil range and decent inflatable downwind boards.

Re: Brand new Cabrinha Mantis V3 and Apex canopy looks weird

With Cabrinha wings they look amazing on the first session, then you fold them up and this happens. It's a hydrophobic finish on the wings that immediately starts breaking down. It'll still work fine it just looks like crap, I stopped noticing it on my Mantis.

Re: Three of Our Favorite Wing Foil Harnesses Reviewed

I've been considering the Dakine Solo harness, but am not sure about the sizing. I have a 36" waist and that is at the high end of the large and low end of the XL. Does anyone know if this harness is sized larger or smaller than specified? Also, do any of you buy the harness lines for your wings, o...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Hi Eltreato, initially I got this board to keep it for longer time. Don't know is that going to be the case but I went for best inflatable board from Gong since I ride in rocky bay and with inflatables there is less chance of damaging and it was discounted :). Didn't want to take big beginners boar...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Hey Lightwind, I'm chiming in here as I ride that same board. I started on a 125L board three years ago, then went to a Gong Hipe 5'1 x ~27" x 4" at "85L, then this 95L board and I'll tell you this Hipe Pro is way trickier to ride than the 85L regular Hipe. I believe this has to do with volume distr...

Re: Gong Hipe Pro

I bought a Hipe 5'1" about a year and a half ago and have loved it. In fact I just ordered the Pro version to get the back footstraps, bottom handle and SCS track system. The only improvement I would like to see is a hard edge lip on the tail like the Fanatic, so I make my own for now.

Re: $400 range wings

That Makani wing with no draft panel and a million handles looks like something straight off Aliexpress, that said there are some terrific wings on this list.

Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

I hope more and more kite foilers change to wing foiling it gives me much more space on the water for my kite lines :D I noticed after being away from Hood River for two summers that this past summer seemed waaay less crowded on the water with so many less kiters on the water in favor of wingfoiler...

Re: Strange situation with lines - Any explanations?

That seems like an unreasonable amount of line stretch. I would also check under the floats or the click bar mechanism if there is one, but I have little experience with them.

Re: What type of oil to use in kite pump?

Keep it simple, just use graphite from a pencil, apply it to the shaft. No mess, it doesn't break down the seals and it's not an obscure solution that requires a purchase from a special shop. I've been doing this for years without issue.
