Re: Fukushima - isn't it time we started worrying?

Er... just a thought, how's it going with the smoking? Lots of suggestions that it's not good for you and premature deaths of other Marlboroughmen and women seem to support that? I don't smoke but knowing that there is no carcinogenic or toxic effect of second-hand smoke I learned to tolerate smoke...

Re: Red itchy eyes *only* in warm/tropical water (even with goggles), why?

It might be beginning of surfers eye (pterygium). It will bother you more in stronger winds and drier air since you loose lubrication sooner and from then on your eyes have no protection from the salt and are getting baked with UV. Try gel type lubrication. If you don't use glasses this thing will j...

Re: Kite Manufacturing - free feedback

It's a tiny bit looser ofcourse, otherwise no real difference. Yes, because with simple zigzag you can't set high thread tension without gathering the stock. Triple point is doing high tension tacking which buries the thread into the material. Ideally you want to use some kind of tape that has more...

Re: Kite Manufacturing - free feedback

I've self launched multiple models plenty of times, and no problems whatsoever? I don't see what difference it would make with 3-step that's in the same place. The outer stitching (no load bearing) on the bridle attachment points however can damage from selflaunching after a while. Move your finger...

Re: Kite Manufacturing - free feedback

From Switch website: CANOPY ATTACHMENT Why are we not using one single row of three-step zigzag like all the others? Every added hole in the leading edge weakens the structure. If you need to add holes, they must be spaced out as far as possible. We use a more time consuming two rows of two-step zig...
