Re: Stethoscope to detect small leakage?

I haven't tried it on a kite but if I want to amplify my hearing I use my phone. My phone has a dedicated app for sound recording but anyone can use their camera app. I connect my headphones on my mobile and open the sound recording app and the sound is amplified quite a lot through the headphones. ...

Re: Sad loss today

no deathloop needed, just pulling. It doesn't even take much wind or current either, 10 knots of wind or 0.5 knots of current will easily drown you if you get stuck on a buoy: buoy.jpg IMG_20231110_205759.jpg Sorry for asking: IS THAT REALLY A DANGER? I mean: If for some reason my Kite IS in the wa...

Re: Sad loss today

Someone mentioned that there should be another way to release the kite other than the QR. That's why i mentioned the straps, downunder and edt. I also like the idea of having a 3rd emergency release that releases the harness off your body. I’ve always wondered why this hasn’t been a thing. As a last...

Re: Sad loss today

To those of you who dont know......... wait, i bet most kiteboarders don't know, the big buckles on the side of the harness which hold the spreader bar belt, act as i quick release when pulled out and away from the body. You know, the ones you pull to loosen the harness. They act as a quick release ...

Re: Which 8m Big Air kite should I buy?

I also ride foil kites lately up to 20kn. For stronger winds I have to choose between those kites you mentioned except the Orbit which i dont like anyway. I have to choose between the edge, ss machine, XR8, Flysurfer Boost 3 and Duotone Rebel. My sponsor shop has these kites on the beach set up and ...

Re: IKO working illegally in Dominican Republic

Eh it's everywhere. IKO is a fluke and still goes on after all these years. What I see, over here, is none of the IKO instructors are teaching any of the safety stuff, right of way or self rescue and all these kind of stuff. They are teaching only some flying skills and straight into the water. Nobo...

Re: 15m kite pump 12psi

It depends on the LE diameter and the way a kite is designed. Manufacturer recommended pressure is the correct way to go. On my Screamers I always put 10 psi. I noticed that on big kite sizes and on wings which both have pretty thick LE the recommended pressure is between 6-8 psi. I saw a 7m Flysurf...

Re: Duotone Click Bar 2023

These pics are from the 2021 models and show exactly what I mean. See the ring below the QR where the safety line is attached to. On the Trust bar photo it is attached directly on the ring and on the other photo it goes through the ring and has a flat ball at the end. I just checked the Duotone webs...
