Re: 2018 North Evo, any thoughts?

I always inflated my kites to 9-10 PSI. The 2018 and 2019 Evo are fairly similar in the 12m range. Before that I owned the 2016. I am sur;raised about the poor lowend, I took the 12m out when there were only surfs, hydrofoils and 17s ans stay on it until you start seeing 8 and 9’ Popping out. So ran...

Re: North Dice 2018 unhook issues

Hello,

Yes lines checked, I just think the 2016 had a much wider sweet spot, at the expense of lift which the 2018 , generates much more. The 2018 is a bit higher aspect ration that 2016 soit lifts more and has improved hangtime...

Duotone Evo 2019 vs Evo 2018

Hi I read somewhere that th 2019 Evo was modified in the large and small sizes and that the medium sizes remained pretty much the same. I would like to take advantage of the close-outs for my large kite (14 or 13m) which sees a lot of airtime. Is the 2019 14m a Ferrari and the 2018 a dog? What is th...

North Dice 2018 unhook issues

Hello, Trying basic unhook stuff, backs, fronts, s-bend and raileys. 5’9’’ 135-140, riding boots, Tona pop Ltd board, The 2016 Dice was super intuitive, very sweet to unhook in light 12-18 knots winds. The 2018 is a different story, it wraps , back stalls, the lady is having a terrible time with it....

Re: I'll have to change my name now North Kiteboarding is no more..

Great thread. Very interesting to see what kiters obsessed with brands do when you step on their "ant hill". Always flown Best kites. Loved the designs, but never really cared about who was a Best rider or how cool the logo was. To each his own. Ok and when times comes to change your gear, you will...

If I were them, I would start teasers to announce the change so the 2 names can be side by side for a few months and the new name will carry equity.

Re: I'll have to change my name now North Kiteboarding is no more..

I think the name was important when people were switching from windsurfing to kiteboarding. Neil Pryde folks went Cabrinha, Nort, well stayed North, Gaastra was not in Canada so they went to Ozone, Sailworks went Slingshot (same kind of philosophy). But now if you learn on a duotone and see a bunch ...
