I just bought a new 2012 ion apex gold with memory foam and easy fasteners for the spreader bar. However in the first kite sessions I noticed that the straps to tighten the spreader bar get loose while kiting. The metal "easy fasteners" don't prevent the straps from sliding through. Who put those clips on? The RRD system (2007) does not need the clips - you have to push the air out of the struts to deflate them. I rode a 9/12 and 15 hyper for 200+ hours and never had a problem with the one pump or hoses. The clips were on there when I bought the kite new. Now I see with a 2008...
