Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

COVID-19 Death Simulator per country. Takes into account data from the field and breaks it down by age category. Scary stuff. But of course it is data simulation based on current available statistics. Chose a country and then slide a slider to a % of people infected in a country and it calculates st...

Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

Corona Virus (COVID-19) is putting cities and soon countries on lock downs. Multiple travel restrictions are in place. Flights being canceled. Quarantines being introduced and forced in some destinations. This thread is to post information or just vent and share your experiences about how COVID-19 i...

Re: why are mast tracks so far from tail of board?

I think we can all agree that a longer tracks covering more of the board, which will give MORE choice of shifting the mast are beneficial. So if the tracks can start all the way in the back and all the way to the point where most boards have them now, everyone would be happy regardless of their posi...

Re: Hydrofoil dedicated wetsuits with cut protection?

Interesting company. I wrote to them and suggested they look into marketing their product for foil dedicated wetsuits. I think it is much bigger market than shark protection. How many people are really going to buy shark protection? Foil cut protection may even need to be required in all racing if y...

Re: Jumping with large wings (Onda) destroys masts?

You must be boosting high! I Guess free fall from 10M could damage any wing. I don't use big tray wings so no comments on fuse-to-mast connection stress at landing. Both setups that I lost to the sea were giving up at mast to board connector: 1) nobile zen/split broke inserts in the board and sank 2...

Hydrofoil dedicated wetsuits with cut protection?

HI all, In my 5 years of foil riding II was never cut with a foil so far. But I have seen others with various types of cuts on their legs, arms and even face. I was just thinking, is there a need for foil dedicated wetsuit like 1mm or 2mm with woven-in things like Kevlar or similar? Basically a wets...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Aluula is a separate company that will be selling material to all kite brands right?

I wonder, how come no other brand even mentions that they will be making aluula kites?
they probably could buy the same material today just like Ocean Rodeo.

Re: Jumping with large wings (Onda) destroys masts?

Serio, thank you. Your posts always have lots of insight. I will need to work on my landing techniques and also consider jumping with smaller wings. The problem is that I can do a flying jibe with foot switch on big wings, but I never took it (foot switch) to the small fast wings. So as a result I s...
