Re: Does a 4 line kite work with any 4 line bar?

Some bars use different pigtails, but this is an easy fix. yes watch for that. check before you go to the beach so you can get some adapters. Otherwise, should be interchangeable. so the answer to your question is almost always yes. But 7 years might be pushing it for other things. Are you sure the...

Re: What your most used kite size for foiling?

Everyone says this : " I want to only foil in light wind, and otherwise use my TT". It rarely works out this way. Either the prospective wannabe foiler only tries to go out in light winds and gets frustrated due to the difficulty in those conditions and the inability to acquire the muscle memory, a...

Re: What your most used kite size for foiling?

i have bad news for you. you are going to have to give up the idea of big three strut kites. they are just not a good match for light wind foiling. too heavy as the posts above point out. we all have to be careful about statements on X knots of wind because meters are often not calibrated, and we ha...

Re: How much more relaxed can it get with a modern foil?

I suggest not to buy any new equipment yet. it will just add one more variable. your equipment is fine to learn on. I would instead suggest trying to diagnose crashes and think about body position. plus be sure your setup is good, mast is not set too far forward or back. etc. etc. as the comments sa...

Re: How many kites...

depends on your style and conditions. but for me as foil + waves: 12 super light wind foiling and occasional light wave days 9 all around foiling and most wave days. my kite for 75% of wave/foil sessions 7 higher wind foiling and waves I occasionally want a 5 for foiling, but there's enough wind for...

Re: Boosting Kite that Wave Rides

I want a kite that boosts and wave-rides, yes.. wanting cake & eating it - I have used Parks & older Pivots and the Pivot does quite well here. I appreciate that there is always a compromise and any kite is not always perfect for the given day, but I can't face/justify getting wave specific kites. ...

Re: Why Peru is not a more popular kite destination?

Just came two days ago from Peru (paracas). Yes, it is very windy and water is "cold", need to use a wetsuit. I liked to kite there. Peru is quite far from Europe and expensive to fly to. My stomach still hurts. I felt everyone in Paracas got some infection from food. The food wasn't that good in g...

Re: Foil Gybe Advice

two disagreements on some advice: I don't think swapping out equipment is going to help. I got to do some demos when I was about at your stage and sorry to say, if you suck, you suck on all equipment. you can learn this on anything not too extreme (no race foils...) second, I am a very good kite loo...

Re: Kite & vacation spot

SPI could be ok in August, but definitely not worth getting on a plane for. go west for wind in August: Maui, Hood River, and SF Bay area, would be my 3 suggestions, in that order.

Re: Foil Gybe Advice

Ive been trying for a couple months now to turn and I fail every time. Ive watched every youtube video twice and tried everything from turning fast to turning slow and everything in-between. The only thing I can do is a quickish turn from heel-side regular foot to toe-side goofy. I can go about 10 ...
