Re: Naish Pivot vs Duotone Neo

I have ridden them both (2018 models) and would put them in different categories. Neo should be more compared to Naish Slash than Naish Pivot. Neo and Pivot are both great in their category. Pivots are great for boosting and as the name says, pivot turns. This makes them great for easy kite loops or...

Re: Vacation warriors - a new breed emerges and it scares the crap outta me

I ran into some people lately who for one reason or another aren't dedicated wind warriors. This is a problem. kitesurfing needs to be more like a cult. you are either IN and when the conditions are good, you will ignore all responsibilities and jobs and family for a good session. or you are not a ...

Re: Hawaii in April/May

on a good surf day, there will be 10's of surfers waiting for each wave and cutting in line is for sure not taken well and that is where the videos come from. However, there are not surfers at kite beach, just other kiters, at least after 11am and on windy days. You won't have issues, it's a chill c...

Re: Wave kite size recommendation

I agree on the 9. that is the money kite for the best wave days, with wind not too light that you're struggling, not too strong which can make for chop on the waves. I haven't ridden a Fuel or any C since 2013, so you can take this information as dated: but I definitely wouldn't want a C in the wave...

Re: Shoulder friendly freeride kites?

I have some shoulder issues from way too many years of swimming. I don't think the kite brand is the issue as the days of massive bar pressure differences are over. Instead, slight style adjustments might help more. Mostly after crashes, avoid the temptation to reach and grab the bar or a board that...

Re: Hydrofoil, Worth it for me?

this is like walking into a church and asking if you should get baptized! of course! ... But only in church a priest will be interested in having sex with your son. And they won't even give parents a discount on the 10% they owe church. All that while being tax exempt. Foiling is none of that BS. I...

a random and unstructured mix of classical sailing rules, wave rules, and author opinions.

Re: Is strapless overrated?

I only ride strapless to be cool and attract these kite babes https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2323765&p=1046452. I hide the straps and a screwdriver in my bathing suit pockets and put them on when I get far enough out past the break that no one can see me (if I can even get out without the str...

Re: Why Peru is not a more popular kite destination?

Just came two days ago from Peru (paracas). Yes, it is very windy and water is "cold", need to use a wetsuit. I liked to kite there. Peru is quite far from Europe and expensive to fly to. My stomach still hurts. I felt everyone in Paracas got some infection from food. The food wasn't that good in g...

Re: Wave kite dilemma

I'm your weight plus or minus a beer or two. Agree with cab driver that Cabrinha bar is great - I never tried an old one but the new ones are as good or better than other brands. I ride a 9 drifter as my go to kite. It does not lack in low end. if I get under powered, I switch to the 12 as will ever...
