Re: When will i relax and enjoy my foiling?

so many great comments. I'm still relatively new (can foiling jibe but not switch feet). I think it depends on what you mean relax. if you mean "no unexpected exploding crashes" then yes, that will come soon. If I wanted, I could go all day with (almost) no crash and ride heel and then toe side and ...

Re: kite for 7-12 knots?

To the OP Eduardo, I am very uncertain about your windrange, as you say there is ONSHORE current??? Very rare to see this anywhere, as if onshore, does it run to the sides when coming to the shore? And if, is there no way you can get out in this water instead, which will result in more wind? Onshor...

Re: kite for 7-12 knots?

thanks everyone for the great advice and options to consider. I want to demo these! @deniska: I was the only kiter so no frame of reference of what other kiters might be able to do in the same conditions. It's an interesting question of what I want to do in these conditions. Since I view that I'm st...

kite for 7-12 knots?

I'm a year into foiling and almost always use a 9m for 10+ knots. for my skill level, I can do a foiling jibe but rarely can switch feet successfully. I usually just stay toe side after a jibe. My new local spot has lots of 7-12 knot days. In a flat water spot, I could easily use the 12 or even 9, b...

Re: Best city in world for kitesurf vacation

Has Puerto Rico been mentioned? To the OP. I think your search to combine will not be satisfied and you should reconsider your strategy. You will have an unhappy family looking for awesome museums, culture, food, and city things near a great kite beach OR you will be unhappy because you are not at ...

Re: Foiling lessons: Ouch

I agree with the comments that a lesson is not needed at this stage. All they will do is yell "get your weight forward" for 3 hours. Definitely worth it to watch the progression videos so you know the theory and have a good equipment setup. For me, that was short mast and foot hooks to avoid the ank...

Re: Why don't all kiters read Kiteforum?

I've been surprised recently to meet many kiters who have never checked into Kiteforum, let alone visit and read regularly. Granted there is a lot of stuff any particular rider would not find relevant, but for an avid kiteboarder there is almost always a thread or two of interest. This past South A...

Re: What's the difference between a beginner, intermediate, and advanced twin tip?

Hmmm.... I differ from most of the advice here. I think there is a difference between beginner and advanced boards. Beginner boards are made to be generic boards to fit a wide range of activities but are not good at any one activity. Advanced boards exploit a particular niche that makes that board ...
