Re: How I built my own kite surfing bar

Your flag out caught my eye, the flag out line can’t pass thru the bar so it’s not a flag out. Why not just attach your leash to a loop immediately above the ring but below the bar.I am riding the KISS bar by Jeff Howard and loving it. I personally ride with no auto flag out, just a grab handle at ...

Re: Pocket board building

Im just saying that there ARE options, and way better for the environment. Not for you, u using foam and thats fine. Not true about Paulownia Tom, u well know the Malme shop who sells it there: https://www.junksupply.com/product/paulownia-wood-core-for-wakeboard-extra-thick/ Sadly for us they moved...

Re: Pocket board building

That's great too. After making a paulownia board I wanted to make something under 2kg and the materials I chose were probably the cheapest way to do that. And really simple too. I don't think I spent more than eur 100-150 on materials. No need to make it cheaper. It would be great if we could get th...

Re: Pocket board building

Tom, I (90kg) can only give my single data point with my similar build (which we have previously discussed): after a busy few months I have bumped and bashed the rails a few times and I see no signs of any damage. Definitely no heal pressure issues anywhere, and it does not feel likely. I am also us...

Re: Peak 4 control bar

Any 4 line bar with equal line length is fine. I use modified cabrinha bars with my peaks. How did you modify the bars? I have only flown Cabrinha, and have no idea what to do with one of these kites with the many bridles. I am heavily invested in Cabrinha and if I don't need to buy another bar, th...

Re: New bar grip

Why would it peel off if the ends are secured? Of course there is probably a big difference between you doing airstyle with a 16m when freeride hydrofoil folks are using a 6m. I put some bike tape on a thin carbon bar and it is holding up OK after some hours. But I did add a thin strip of double sid...

Re: Naish Torque Bar - flag line knot slipped through stopper

I've had this problem on homemade bars. What I do is thread (Splice) a thin bit of line through the loop of the safety line. The line goes inside the loop like a splice. This makes the connection quite a bit bigger and should fix the problem. I also liked nixmatters' idea which is very simple..

Re: North Dice 2014 10m issue

Had this on a 9m i used to own. Massimo mentioned lubricating the pulley line which could be worth a try. Or maybe it could be worth trying a proper pully instead of the plastic thing.

Re: Flycolibri lightweight board/kite/harness/bar

There is some interesting stuff there for sure.

That "Wichard" has been around for years. Unfortunately it has a design flaw that causes it to not release reliably even thought the pin is easy to pull. Been there done that. Stay away.

Re: The Firefly V2 mod

Drsurf - I don't think there is any need to try to put people off trying out mods by suggesting that they must be lawnmowers. If it is possible to extend the useable range of kites then everyone benefits. I agree that peaks are a bit pointless it you are just riding up and down though, so no argumen...
