Re: Best Knot in 5mm Dyneema

My understanding is a water knot (in my climbing days we called it a tape knot) is specifically for joining ends of tape or webbing. I’ve never heard of it being used on rope/line. Maybe it’s ok…dunno, might be worth some research? There you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5yr3nO05WQ Water kno...

Re: Best Knot in 5mm Dyneema

The right-hand knot on the picture would be better tied as a water knot. The way you tied it can "roll" itself undone.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I now bought another new 3 m² Peak4 and hopefully I will find the time to cut my old preserial Peak4 3 m² down to around 2,5 m² and maybe if I don't sell the Peak5 it could be, that I also try to cut it down to around 2,0 m² but combined with some further "down-up-grades" towards Peak4 (e.g. cuttin...

Re: Single line flag conversion for OR Fusion bar

I haven't found anyone selling just one spliced front line. The only 23m front line set I've found is from Infexion. Are there others? It is better to just cut off the grey loops on the front lines and resplice them yourself. Splicing is easy and a useful skill to learn. Do a search and you will fi...

Re: Kitesurfing after hip surgery

I think answers need a bit more info. What kind of hip op did people have? I think the resurfacing ops ("birmingham", after McMinn's method pioneered in that city in the UK) are most suitable for sport and are expected to be strong enough for more extreme activities. A question is to what level you ...

Re: Stick for a DIY Bar

When I have made homemade bars, I liked to coat them with a thin layer of epoxy where I wanted the grip, and then wrap scraps of peel-ply (or any 100 percent nylon or polyester fabric) around those areas. Pull the peel-ply off after the epoxy cures, and it leaves a nice light grippy texture that ca...

... Any of the copper, nickel or moly based anti-seize compounds will also do a wonderful job, but they are very messy. ... I would be very suspicious of any metal-based anti-seize products. I got some weicon anti-seize paste [not recommended] with my first foil: https://kitesyndikat.de/montagepast...

Re: Ultimate lightwind kite for foiling? UFO or Single Skin

I think, but dont know for sure - there is a difference regarding your weight. Meaning, if you are heavier, you need a kite with more powerspike to lift you up on foil. At 90+kg I found Regis's description of the Pulsion power development to be spot on despite the difference in our weight. Talking ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

It’s almost as frustrating as getting flippant responses from people who don’t even comprehend your question. I was not aiming my comment at you - apologies if I caused offense - I was just speaking from my own experience with trying to fix bridle issues. Maybe I don't comprehend the question, but ...
