Re: Twintip for choppy water

+1 for the Monk or BronQ Funny thing is - once the initial euphoria of getting a new board passes - you will stop noticing how smooth the Monk is until taking some other non-Shinn board for a ride - you'll be in a for a surprise... And yes - what you'll gain in knees comfort - you'll loose in upwind...

Re: Best bar ever made? LF Mission V3

Does anybody with real hands-on experience has anything with sense in it to contribute? I used to kick F-One's butt for their ultra-safe, velcro release - all while owning F-one kites. Problem is - in over 3 seasons I haven't activated the release even once. Hence - I don't quite understand - what d...

Re: does anyone else care about linear bar response?

Unless you ride in some idyllic conditions where water is always flat, wind is steady withing 0.25knots and women's farts smell like flowers - the subject of this topic has no meaning.

Re: Cuba or Colombia in March

My point was really only about the wind: the wind in Cabarete in the winter is different from the wind in Cuba because of the position relative to the trade flow & the northerly frontals. I've been going to Cabarete regularly since 1987. In the last 12 years I have spent about 7 months cumulatively...

Re: Cuba or Colombia in March

In contrast, in my month in Cabarete from Dec 20th - to Jan 21st there were 26 kiting days out of 32. 16 of those on a 9m or 8m kite (on a SB), upper teens to low 20 knots - you might have been on a 12m, but fully powered up. The other days I was on an 11m, winds mid teens to high teens. I believe ...

Re: Cuba or Colombia in March

I’m going to disagree with the Cuba low wind comments. You were lucky. I've been visiting Cuba 1-2X per year since 2007: -Only once we had a true 7 out of 7 - "can't kite anymore by day 3" kind of trips -Everything else was always hit and miss averaging 2-3 days out of 7 of ridable (12m kite at big...

Re: Camber induced kites?

There was a topic a few years back - where somebody who actually designs and builds kites explained that yes - the cavity behind leading edge creates drag, but it's the kind of drag which is very beneficial to kite's stability and overall flying characteristics. As such - case closed.

Re: Unintended suicide mode on Core sensor 2+ bars

I don't recall anyone local snapping ozone's freeride line set. One guy got Chrono with race lines for jumping, not surprisingly he snapped them within the first week of use (being a heavier guy)... Have you hear of anyone snapping free ride sets? Mind that I have never said about Ozone lines durab...

Re: Unintended suicide mode on Core sensor 2+ bars

Are you the Alex D who bought my broken nobile board? If so, you break a lot of stuff too Lol, I'm definitely not. Just went through a warranty replacement of an Enduro kite which got all twisted up due to webbing shrinkage and although I do like the simplicity and solidity of Ozone bars - I won't ...

Re: Unintended suicide mode on Core sensor 2+ bars

Going forward, I am thinking of jumping the CORE ship and going to Ozones.. some mix of Chronos, Edges and hyperlinks God help Ozone. Den, would you consider going to some other brand? Like Epic or Doodletone? Nobody will feel particularly bad about you trashing these... Back to the orig...
