Re: Ocean Rodeo 2012

"well" is relative. It for sure loops better than the Rise, which can drop you at the end. I prefer it to the Razor as well, but that's because I'm getting older and don't like all that force.

Re: Ocean Rodeo 2012

a bit more on the cypher. I finally got some winds suitable for kiteloops.

Loops are softer and more gentile than the Razor. Loops are better than the rise, which didn't loop well. If you like a big yank in your loop this won't be as strong, but much more relaxed

Re: San Francisco area in November

our season is pretty much over by November. You can get lucky on the coast, but don't count on anything.

Re: North NUGGET 2012 ->>> SkimSurf egg design (WEIRD!)

my opinion is that I want one. Looks like a super fun toy. I want a board that crosses the gap between skim and surf and this, along with the Cab skillet and others, look super fun.

Re: HyperFlex vs. NPX

yeah, i'll second the support for Hyperflex. never had an NPX, but I have an ampK 4/3 and an amp 5/4/3 and both have treated me really well. The 5/4 is almost too warm for me and I usually leave the hood down. I really just use the 5/4 for surfing and only kite in the 4/3.

Re: Ocean Rodeo 2012

Got another session on the 9m Cypher. I took my little strapped surfboard. I was lit on the 9m with wind in the mid 20's. There is a ton of grunt in this kite, and there should be, it looks very big for a 9m. I tried hard to mess it up and get it to behave badly, but mostly it didn't. It still turns...

Re: TwinTip for waves

Just an FYI to the Aviso rep posting here. If you recommend the non-kite Aviso boards to kiters be prepared for some disappointed folks with broken boards. I think Aviso makes a sick product for surf and kite and I wish I had a quiver for both. That said, I broke a Aviso surfboard doing a fairly sta...

Re: Ocean Rodeo 2012

Yup, I should have said BEST FOR ME. Many will prefer the Razor's speed or the Rise's range and gust control. For me the Cypher was like mama bear's porridge, just right. and Rowboat is right that it gets harder and harder to review and differentiate between new kites since they're all soo much bett...
