Re: Is Element 6 good for inland gusty conditions?

Based on one lake session to date on a 7m, yes. Five struts, very stable, lots of depower. It is very much a delta kite, like the Evo or Slingshot Rally. Some people like the feel, others don't. They are very powerful for their size; it has a high surface area. I probably should have bought a 6m. Th...

Re: Fast wave hydrofoiling.

The few times that I have kited Tai Rd it has been very cross-off. It would be very difficult to keep the speed under control when bottom turning on a foil board. I reckon you should have a go on a modern foil Plummet. A "slow" foil is still as quick as a surfboard, it just doesn't turn the same way...

Re: Switch Helium 3

Mine don't hindenburg. The 10m and 12m Helium fly in less wind than I can hydrofoil, i.e. < 8 knots. I never keep a kite still at 12 o'clock in light winds, I make sure that it is always moving. Maybe it's a bridle problem or your winds are really shifty?

Re: World Sailing AGM confirms Kiteboarding for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Pretty narrow weight range. It's not obvious to me that there is much advantage to being small (or big), the kite is supporting most of the weight anyway. I have no idea how you would manage and police the transition zone. I would rather see a competition of individuals rather than mixed doubles. If...

Re: Game changer - Onewheel teaches how to turn on a foil

Well worth the purchase. I have had mine three years. A kid put it in the harbour during a kite-boarding event earlier this year and it stopped working. I pulled it all apart, dried it and put it back together and fortunately it has been fine since then. The weight distribution skills are similar bu...

You're correct, it's not 97%, it's more like 99% as those few contrarians were older and some have died recently. Others have left academia so that they are now able to be paid by lobby groups to spread fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

Re: Three strut Hybrid C kites for foiling?

I use a 12m Switch Helium and it flies in less wind than I can foil in, around 6 knots. I use a small 120cm board though, so need a good gust to get up.

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

LOL. If you knew your history you would know that Eisenhower was concerned about the military–industrial complex where the defense industry had far too much vested interest in public policy. Public policy in your country is now made by ignorant morons who pay no attention to scientific knowledge or ...

It's called the Dunning Kruger effect. Try to guess where marlboroughman fits on the following chart:

Your opinions are inconsistent with the peer-reviewed scientific literature.
