I agree. Marine Tex is the way to go. I used it on my V-1 about 4 years ago, and it's held up just fine. Same issue--the wind blew it over onto pavement that had a piece of gravel on it.
It sounds and looks like a great product. There's a lot to be said for a double layer of thermal protection. For some reason two layers seems much warmer than a single layer of equivalent thickness. When it's really cold water and air (mid-30s F) I wear a 6/5/4 wetsuit with a 2mm shorty over it. Unb...
I screwed up replacing valves on my leading edge bladder. I think I didn't let the alcohol cleaner dry completely before applying the stick-on valves (to a new bladder blank). I cleaned the bladder with the supplied alcohol swabs, and waited about a half-hour before applying the valves. After I had ...
You left out some important info. How are "personal watercraft" to be regulated? What do the regulations that pertain to that definition require/restrict? IMO there should be a major distinction between manual-powered watercraft (kayak, SUP, canoe), wind-powered watercraft (sailboat, windsurfer, kit...
Most of my kites are pump-ups. About a month ago I was out in -5 degree F temps and went to use my WMFG Pump, and as soon as I started to straighten out the hose it broke. It was the only pump I had along, but I fortunately had an open cell foil that was marginally big enough to use that day. I hear...
We're now down into the zero to 4 degrees C range for both water and air temps. I hate cold feet and hands, and I think I accidentally found a trick to keep my feet warmer with the same booties. My old cold water (7 mm) booties were about worn out, and I was using them in the warmer weather as foot ...
I totally agree (I plan on riding tomorrow when it's air temp about 35 degrees F) that full mitts are the best. Whatever you buy, though, make sure they're not too small. Too tight at the wrist is just as much of a problem as too tight on the hand. As long as the wrist is at least snug around the ou...
Velcro pockets for keys and such, drawstring opening for the kite, straps and pockets for bar and pump--seems too easy, doesn't it? Wazup, North? It shouldn't add to the cost, either. (JIMOHO) (just in my overly humble opinion).
My Ozone bags don't have zippers. No problem getting the kite in and out of the bag. Just a drawstring at the top. One of the strings broke--no problem putting in a new string. North: Why use zips? I also have kite bags with zips, and so far no problems with the zips, but I'm a fresh water kiter.
