Re: Wingsurfing RIGHT OF WAY???

1. Don’t be a dick 2. Yield to whoever will cause an accident. 3. When common sense fails, starboard tack is the actual rule. If you’re in starboard you have to keep going until past the danger. If on port you have to yield to avoid those on starboard. 4. In surf be extra nice and don’t get in the w...

Re: Hydrofin? Any insights on this?

Actually it’s been said many times, hydrofoils at 15+ knots are more similar to airplane wings operating near or above the speed of sound, than they are to airplane wings that operate at low speed. Has to do with water density and viscosity being much greater than air. Hydrofoils and fins in kiteboa...

Re: Hydrofin? Any insights on this?

Looks like a bucking pony. Maybe the vee shape on the foils exacerbates this?

The makani fins look pretty big at 4.7”/12cm and have extra area/less concave trailing edge. Never tried them but look interesting...

Re: Portugal Fuseta or Peniche

Portugal is great fun to visit, I was lucky to go to peniche/baleal area a few years ago. Went in fall while surf contest was on, kept looking for smaller waves, paddling out into "looks like head high" that turned out bigger. Didn't get a lot of wind, 4 sessions in 9 days I think. It was sort of be...

I’d probably get clouds again, 4.8, 6.2 and 10.4.
90% of my riding is in 8-20 knots, foil or directional.

Re: (almost) tool-less foil setups

That naish system looks smart! Ketos has only one screw for board:mast and mast:fuselage, 2 screws each for wings. Only one tool is needed, supplied with the foil: https://www.ketos-foil.com/925-large_default/cle-torx-double-ketos-t30t25.jpg Before they switched to torx screws, the tool had only one...
