Re: We should be wearing sunglasses throughout the day and especially while kiteboarding! Why aren't we?

When did this forum turn into the pikey scrooge money savers dot com. We've had IKEA bags and polythene bags on another thread, guys that want all the gear, but don't want to spend too much money and now folks worried in case some entity makes too much profit from the glasses that save their eyes. I...

Re: The best bag for kite gear? The blue Ikea bag?

+1 I find the change mat great, just be sure it's wedged in and won't spill in the car. Takes harness, wetsuit and wet shoes fine. The bag looks a bit overkill but may work if you really are short on space; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qofuoou2Ivk I use a North Core changing pad with drawstring. ...

Re: Different Kite and Bar Brand

Who does? Other less capital intensive sports are available. I gather running has a relatively low entry cost, as does swimming if you a near some kind of water! And yes I am a beginner. Windsurfer since a long time but left because of logistics... And I am trying to have more than one kite, to cove...

More narrating over action/doing video, rather than so much of you talking to camera might help.

Re: Kite gear with Ryanair

Im afraid that it will be impossible to pack a 137cm twintip under 119cm . I will just turn up at the check-in desk with my bag, maybe i will have luck with the person. I doubt it would get more expensive than 140€+55€. Doesnt really matter if the bag will be a couple of days late since i...

Re: Kite gear with Ryanair

The website says: Make sure you the bag does not exceed 20kg. Any passenger exceeding their personal checked baggage allowance will be charged for excess baggage at the rate prevailing on the day of travel. This is currently £/€11 per kilo (or local currency equivalent). So it looks like you can pre...

Re: Twintip for choppy water

There may be some confusion regarding an 'all-round board' and a 'good board'. You can expect an all rounder to perform reasonably well in a range of conditions, some better than other and some more biased towards a certain set of conditions. Some of them could even be described as 'Good'. A more sp...

Re: 14m 3-strut "lighter" wind kite recommendations?

How do you find the 15m Contra for going upwind? Thanks! A few years ago I had 13,15 and 17m Contras The 13m was quite a bad kite (a dog) for upwind, whereas the 15 and 17m were fine. The 15m was a favourite. I read they have since made the contra slightly higher aspect and the 13m had also been im...
