Re: Splitboard twintip packing strategies?

I use one of these, has worked fine across a number of airlines. It looks like a case and doesn't attract attention or get picked out to go down the over-size chute. It does weigh about 4.5Kg Concept-X XL Splitboard Bag https://www.coronation-industries.de/shop/en/kite-travel-boardbag/16069-concept-...

Re: Buying larger kite 15m vs 17m (Contra, Emotion, Juice etc.)

I agree with Matt here. I'm heavier than you guys and find 17m kites offer very diminishing returns over say a 15m. A large board is a good idea to get the best from light winds too. 15m is a good step up from a 12m kite. I've kited quite a bit in The Netherlands and just couldn't imagine needing a ...

Re: Juice 15m vs contra 15 2019

I've had a ton of light wind gear and have settled on a 15m Contra as my biggest kite (116Kg) Have had two. It does everything I need very well in my opinion, especially control when overpowered and upwind in light airs. I find very diminishing returns with larger kites, even the 17m Contra. I'm a C...

Re: 3rd party liability insurance UK

I just had an email from Safety Tool to say; Due to brexit: "Unfortunately, we can only offer the SafetyTool insurance to policyholders with their main place of residence inside the EU". I've had this for a few years, never claimed though, but have heard good things about them over the years; https:...

Re: Help a big guy pick out a big board for big air

116Kg 50+ bad knee - I've sought the same answer for a number of years. My main board is a C/F Elite 140X42 - Love it! 9m to 13m Had a couple of higher rocker boards for when my knee is bad. I find these to be power-hungry and not engaging enough. I started to ration my time on the water and just s...

Re: Light wind kite

It certainly makes sense to have some bigger kit if that's your typical wind. It'll give you more sessions on the water, which will speed up your learning. I found a bigger board really speeded up my learning with easier water starts and turns. Worth considering deepwater relaunch (and shallow water...

Re: Single strut kite questions...

Hey Fatkiter, I'm a similar stature ;) I agree with the posts above, one strut kite is not ideal, especially in those conditions. Being heavy it can be hard to get advice as IMHO you need to get it from someone about your own weight. I've had way too much kit over the years and have settled on the s...
