Aerodynamics vs Hydrodynamics . Behind the Design with Ken Winner hydrofoils that they have a strut (or ‘mast,’ as we incorrectly say) that connects the wings to the board. This strut passes through the surface of the water www.duotonesports.com :thumb: Maybe there is hope that the ONLY correct ter...

Re: Losing the front hook

Re: Building a state-of-the-art foil kite

its 95 % about the canopy with its profile and the tension in the straps The bridle is just to release the canopies potential, but if the canopies shape is bad it will never be a nice kite not with the best bridle. @kiteexpert: Maybe already asked that question: Are there any real world photos or v...

Re: Broken Strut

Mike Murphy came by our spot last weekend. He seemed to care more about not cashing out on this foil craze rather than what that thing is called  I would wager you could call it a "chassis" if he was paid what was,is most likely his due! I would sure like to shake his hand and say bravo! But ...

As for MR MIKE MURPHY ( respect ) as far as my extensive hydrofoil history research goes he gave us our basic design....

Seriously though - can you post a picture of section you’ve got?
What section?
By the way agree completely with your above definitions,
A mast IS
"a tall UPRIGHT post, spar or other structure ON a ship or boat, in sailing vessels generally carrying a sail."

Re: Broken Strut

Yah the Airchair predates all of these brands and they call it a T-bar, I lean toward mast over strut but if you want to get technical and pound your chest over which is right... they are both wrong. https://www.airchair.com/product/mv-38-t-bar/ Wrong! Mike Murphy (respect) co founded Air chair, th...

Re: Broken Strut

The only "mast" on ANY foil board would be on one with a sail, as in Sail board hydrofoil, SBHF! You hang sails on masts, You support foil boards with STRUTS. Read any dictionary! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrofoil "Description The hydrofoil usually consists of a wing like structure mounted on ...

Re: Remora Sucktion Foil Mount

400 EUROS :o from their site, "Does the Remora cause excess drag? No. The extra drag caused by Remora is not noticeable. Drag exponentially increases with speed. Your board and Remora will be clear of the water and foiling before any speed is reached where drag may become an issue." Sorry but for lo...
