Re: Best foils for SUP "wing foiling"

I use the Slingshot Infinity 99 foil with 60 and 75 cm. masts. Works good for me. I have not tried any other ones.

Re: Which small kite ?

Ok I did have that happen a couple of times in big lulls and it did pull a bit harder till it moved to the edge of the window. You are right does not bother me at all and am a big fan of the kites. Thanks for the explanation.

Re: Which small kite ?

Elgaupo, I find just the opposite regarding the 4.5 Wave in gusts. My session today was very gusty and I had no problems with the kite. Maybe your gusty wind in different than mine. Today I had lulls to about 15 knots then gusting close to 25. Once it hit the high end I had to point high on the foil...

Re: Which small kite ?

I use my Concept Air Wave 4.5 from above 16 knots to about 25. I use my 3 meter from above 20 knots to above 30. I have not tried it higher than that. These are the wind ranges I most enjoy them in, not the maximum and minimum they could be used in. I just came in from using the 4.5. Easy drift laun...

Re: Wing foiling in gusty winds

I am about 80 kg. My board is 7'10" by 30" and 138 litres. I can stand on that in most conditions. I could easily go smaller but do like the how easy it is to stand on and do pivot turns in large chop without falling off when I do not fly through a jibe. I use the same board for windfoiling so have ...

Re: Wing foiling in gusty winds

What you are describing is when I wing foil most often. If the wind is really gusty or a bad direction for kiting that is when I use it. Getting a large hydro foil wing and a floaty board means I can easily stand while waiting for a gust and as Gunnar said once up it can drop quite low and I keep go...

Re: New aquatik single skin by Conceptair

I do exactly like Stef said. I take the kite to the edge of the window and pull the back lines. So far even in quite windy conditions it has just sat there. Really stress free. I have not done this on land yet as I always launch and land in shallow water.

Re: New aquatik single skin by Conceptair

You were probably asking Horst but I can answer based on my experience with the 6-meter Firefly. I think it would be fine for a beginner. Easy relaunch, mild power spike when you dive it. It is not real fast through the wind window. It does turn fairly quickly. It will not over fly the wind window a...

Re: Best hydrofoil wave kite: ConceptAir Firefly vs. Flysurfer Peak 4

Horst could you tell me your technique for getting up on the board in 13 to 14 knots on your 2.5 Firefly. Could you estimate at what wind speed you are able to ride with the kite parked. Thanks for the review.

Re: New aquatik single skin by Conceptair

After two more sessions I have a couple more observations. My 8.5 water smart (not the wave) does go a bit earlier than the 6 firefly. In the same wind where I had trouble getting up on the board the 8.5 would get me going. Once up on the foil both kept me going. Not sure what the wind speed was but...
