Re: Slingshot Infinity 99 front wing absorbing water

I also have the 99 and have used it a lot. Are you sure that the wing is absorbing water? I find that after using it if I hold it with the wing pointing up after a bit water leaks out around the fuselage. If I let it drain then put it away and then take it apart many days later there is still water ...

Re: Advice on Repair to Hydrofoil

For small non-structural surface repairs I use automotive spot putty. It dries fast and is easy to sand. That allows you to contour it easily. I then use spray paint to cover it. Just make sure you put light coats of the paint so that it doesn't run. I've done it for years and it works perfectly.

Re: Easy Pre-inflation ideas

I use a DUSTIN MIZER EARTH DUSTER WITH CRANK. I was able to blow up at 12 m Flysurfer Speed 2 in well under a minute. No battery needed. The white tube is removable and you can use it to let the air out of the kite as well. You can blow the kite up with just the hand crank portion without the tube a...

Re: Really short masts

Out of curiosity I tried both my 48 cm and 60 cm masts winging. I felt the 48 was too short for winging. The 60 worked but it wasn't as much fun as my 71 or 75. I found winging In waves between knee and waist high worked on the 60 but I breached too often on the 48.

Re: Really short masts

In the fall I sometimes use a 46 cm mast in one location to avoid long walk in the water to get started. I find it is still lots of fun and I rarely breach and if I do just pop back up. I have a mast about 5 cm shorter but have not used it once I got the 46. Below 46 is less fun. It is still usable ...

Re: Single skin foil kite with closed cell LE V2

I got the 9 because after talking to Ben it sounded like it had the the improvements that I would like and it did. Could I have gotten by with the 8, yes of course. Glad I bought it. I have no problem landing them alone on land and on water safely every time and I use them a lot.

Re: Single skin foil kite with closed cell LE V2

I got to try my new Concept Air Firefly V3 9 metre yesterday in 7 to 10 knots on a large fresh water lake (based on a wind metre about a kilometer away, there were very few white caps at the windiest point). I was using a 1500 cm. foil on a large floaty foil board. I also have the 8 metre V2 that I ...

Re: General sizeing for beginner 100kg/225lbs?

I weigh 175 so I cannot advise you about what works at your weight but I have both the slingshot foils you mention. I would go with the Infinity 99 over the Quantum 100 for you. I like both but I use the 99 when the wind is really light as it starts earlier and will stay up at a slower speed. Of cou...

Re: Wingfoil Harness - your experience with current models

Where I ride is extremely gusty as well. I would be really surprised if you didn't like the harness. My local shop has both of the Dakine harnesses and their wing expert agreed with me that he liked the solo better than the fly.

Re: Wingfoil Harness - your experience with current models

The back part of the harness is all soft. The webbing strap is sown into the soft part shortly after it enters the sides. So the webbing strap that holds the hook just transfers the weight directly into the soft back part. There does not appear to be any stiffer inlay in the soft back part. That's w...
