Re: Diversity in the Kiteboarding community

My question is how we can make our sport more inclusive. Most people responding so far don’t want this question to be asked. Seems like an exhibit of the underlying issue. Kami rightfully said "You’re trying to create an issue where one doesn’t exist." Next, the palmbeacher will demand inclusivenes...

Re: 2019 Watches

If I have a GPS watch to recommend above all the others, it would definitely the Locosys GW-60, which offers the following advantages over the major brands: Doppler GPS, 5 Hz fix rate (all the others do 1 fix/sec), doesn't need to be connected to internet to transfer your track to your computer for...

Re: 2019 Watches

Hello Speedster, I bought the Huawei GT2 just for the purpose of recording my sessions, expecting it would be possible to download/export tracks to a computer in any readable format (gpx, klm, tcx, whatever) since it's advertised as a GPS watch, but as far as I know it doesn't, so the nice watch is ...

Re: wave kite with excellent low end?

Definitely consider Concept Air Wave. Low aspect foil kites drift better than LEIs (I believe there's a KF thread on that topic). I've got only the 4.5 and am thrilled, but exists in 6.6, 8.5 and 12.5. Behaves more like a LEI than any other Ram Air I know. Instant power / depower. Weight: 1 kg! Rela...

Re: 2019 Watches

Not the latest (perhaps the greatest?) the Locosys GW-60 and the Motion GPS are the only 5 Hz (5 fixes/second) watch, and as far as I know the only ones that don't require being connected to internet to download the track to the computer for analysis, which for me is GPS Action Replay. Details here:...

Re: Thailand: Hua Hin vs Rawai (Phuket)

Hello Anna, November - June: Hua Hin or Paknam Pran. Easterlies from North sector at the beginning of the dry season to South sector later on. At high tide, go to Paknam Squid beach. Later in the season Feb onwards, high tide isn't an issue. As a matter of fact, the whole coast from Cha Am down al t...

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

Foil kites exist in all sizes. It's a misconception to think they exist only in big sizes. There a new generation of foils that are not more expensive than LEIs, and that includes extremely easy to handle (and relaunch) kites that are aimed at beginners (e.g. Flysurfer Viron). When you count the hou...
