Re: 17m lightwind Kite + normal TT or 12m Kite + Door?

Can’t recommend a door highly enough... I still have my 2008 spleene door 159 and it still gets used regularly. I’ve found with my 13m edge and door, I can pretty much stay upwind and have equivalent power to people on TT’s and zephyr (I have one of them too, it’s pretty similar to the 13m edge in l...

Re: New to this, is it realistic to teach myself?

I think you’ll struggle to fly a kite in 7-10 knots, a bit like cycling or skiing, going really slowly doesn’t always help. Around 20 knots is a decent wind speed.. Also big kites turn more slowly, so it might be worth considering a large (15m +) kite Bearing in mind as a beginner you’ll crash the k...

Re: Strapless board shape?

Thanks all for the responses, really insightful. Just to be clear the board in the photo isn’t mine, it’s just the same as the one I rented. And when I look at the various mainstream kitesurf boards, not many are this shape. I was conscious that the local Cape Verde strapless pros are riding boards ...

Strapless board shape?

Hello, Just looking for some general advice on the difference board shape makes on strapless boards. I started to learn riding strapless in Cape Verde a few weeks ago, the board I used was one of these: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20150703/55cbe0f9a2cd207fbc6140d3030ac359.jpg it's a kiteloose ni...

Re: Advice - Don't crash with the board on your feet

Broke my ankle 3 years ago crash landing without my board in shallow water...

Pretty sure if any one of the following were true I'd have got away with it

Kept board on feet
Deeper water
Kept bar in (kite would've stayed powered and under control)

Not sure ditching your board is always a good idea

Spleene RT views?

Hello, It's time to replace my 2008 Airush Switch. I'm really interested in the Spleene RS boards: http://spleene-kiteboarding.com/wp/rs-line/ I'm really interested in comments from anyone who rides or has ridden one as I can't find any reviews or discussion of them anywhere. How do they compare to ...

Re: Ozone Edge bladder leak found

same here, 11m and 13m 2012 edge's with wear...now patched. Thanks for pointing this out! Unimpressed really, my first kite was 13m ozone instinct sport II 2008, I only just sold it this year and it was in excellent condition, far better than any other kite I've had to go with it since. I always tho...

Repairing ozone instinct trim line from 2008 five line bar?

The depower line on from my 2008 instinct sport 2 has suddenly worn through like the picture. photo.JPG Does anyone know if the outer sheath takes any strain, can I just strip it off and put a flexible acrylic hose over the inner section, will the remaining line be strong enough? I'd like to replace...

Refurb my twin tip?

Hello, Another rider recently sailed over my 2008 spleene door, I don't know why, there was acres of space - at least it wasn't me he sailed over :o It's put a small gash, maybe 3-4mm, in the heelside edge, which will slowly delaminate over the coming months. I'm intending to just tidy up the gash w...
