There have been prototypes of Arcs with bridles.
What I have heard the auto zenith and extreme stability were not possible with bridles. Tha is why development stopped
Strapless. I've had the straps on a couple of times to try jumping, but the whole setup feels heavier and somehow clunky. Which foil do you have? And are the strap positions equal to where you place your feet while riding strapless? On my board it did not feel clunky at all for example, which I tho...
The only reason I want to use straps occasionally is that you can hold more power from a kite. Without straps there is a limit of grip. That is the huge difference I noticed. Still I love strapless riding! But I am one or the few around here. Everybody rides strapped here. And indeed most things are...
Hi, I had a great day with the CA Waves the other day. First full power on the 4.5 for 2 hours then a 2 hour downwinder on the 6.5. This is from the downwinder: https://youtu.be/bTZdBn9REK8 Great video with a nice soundtrack ;) Although I am into hydrofoiling the past few years, I would love to try...
Rode strapless on my hydrofoil from day one for 3 seasons now. This spring I rode 3 sessions with footstraps, to see if it is any better...and broke my foot because one foot got stuck in the front strap while doing a jibe in marginal wind... After the cast was off back to strapless again...but still...
Flown the V1 12m once, and indeed a wild beast for sure! With not much foil kite experience basically not the kite to go for. The V2 is stable, does not overfly, much more heavy (v1 12 is approx 2200gr) and does not have the same performance. Flown the 9 and 13m of that. Not a racekite. Should not h...
Again, structural stiffness and torque (twist) resistance has nothing to do with a core. Only the outer layers are responible for all that. Take a metal pipe. Compare it with the same diameter solid and with a wall thickness. They will be as strong and stiff, but the hollow one will be much lighter....
Only difference you will notice for the waterstart if you do it strapless with the same board & foil - only variation will be mast length - is timing: a short mast will sink a bit quicker than a long one. With straps there will be no difference! Still I do not believe in those short masts. Nice for ...
I am kiteboarding for over 16 years now. Quit with TT's a few years ago. Rode only my waveboard and skim board for a while...untill i tried the first time on a HF. Have not rode any other boards since. I am with Peter_Frank that I have not (yet) said my waveboard goodbye, and I told myself only to r...
