Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Hahahah someone announces a wicked new lightweight high durability material that applies to kites. Gets the weight down by a huge margin, and durability up to the point of almost untearable.....arguably the biggest potential performance and usability increase we've seen in 10 years I also suspect so...

Re: Core and German engineering meme

I have no experience with core kites....not do I plan to
Despite having a very small presence at my local beaches the local kite repairman considers core to be his “most loyal kites.”

Given the last couple of threads posted I’ll take a pass and recommend others do the same

Re: Anyone tried the FixnZip zipper repairs for kite bags??

Used it on 2 of my north bags. for about 1-2 years, 1 of the bags I use daily.
Large size,
works decently
a bit fussy to install.
zipper has split or come loose a few times with it but always fixable and gets the job done.

Re: I'll have to change my name now North Kiteboarding is no more..

Yeah they probably had to re-name the brand....too much Airstyle affiliation makes you seem like a kook brand....all value lost. ;) I think this duotone name is non-sense, you couldn't pick a stupider more meaningless name....but this is also the same marketing genius that wrote "THUPER FANTASTHTIC"...

Re: Super simple very minimal bar/chicken loop system

Sometime Simple is euphemism for stupid
This bar set up is simple for SURE.

a bunch of work, just to make a system that has dangerous flaws that have already been identified in previous posts. (edt)
Guy clearly hasn't ever been in deep shit with his kite. Don't emulate this people.

Re: World Record 19m / 63ft ! Largest Wave Ever Kitesurfed

Do you have to be ON the wave for it to be considered a record..or can you claim it by say riding out way in front.... Extrapolating can I claim a bigger one if I watch the video somewhere while sitting on my couch ... what if I just kite surf the same ocean while these waves are going off? Or say p...

Re: Channels on a surfboards

I've experimented extensively with side cut out line board shapes and channels. Vader, Stallion, Evo type boards are absolutely fantastic. As are heavily channeled twin tip boards like the tona pop. Also some interesting stuff here about concaves as well as underwater flow video http://www.cambersur...

Re: North Zippers

For quick fix www.fixnzip.com. Product is available at some camping or mountain equipment supply stores. Use the large size. I've fixed 2 of my zippers this way and they've been going strong for weeks now. Takes a bit of screwing around and a few tricks 2 first get it started but it works fantastic ...
