Get in touch with Rob Chrystal at Ocean2air kitesurfing in Durban, the Maverick board was his project. He was one of the first kiters in RSA. The maverick board had the rails sort of curled over to form the fins at the tips.
I've been printing parts and using them to make moulds for about 2 years, must have done about 10 different wings. still a lot of work, but good results

Slightly off topic, but has anyone else had problems with the Diablo line setup getting hooked up in the pulleys? (at least that's what I think happens). I've taken the Diablo line off my kite now because somehow it gets fouled in the pulleys, and then the kite won't steer - feels like a locked in/s...
Hi Stef I think it looks fantastic. It is very similar in area, planform and aspect ratio to the one I designed and built, only with much bigger cells. P.S. Stef helped me out with heaps of advice on material sourcing and design on my kite. Took me 10 months from conception to flying, but flies way ...
I had a lot of help from the French guys when I built my 1st foil - felt like standing on the shoulders of Giants. You can get a translation by right clicking on the page and selecting "translate with Bing" (in Internet Explorer). The translation is sometimes a bit dodgy and comes up with some funny...
Hey Denise - good job, nice to know the "Seabreeze" design worked out. That foil howls like it's haunted! You learned much faster than me. You're going to be looking for some go-faster carbon pretty soon! Cheers P.S. I thought you were a Denis, not a Denise. I'd guess you're the 1st lady to build th...
Hi Denis Congratulations! It's fantastic to ride a foil you built yourself, and for what it's worth they always seem to need some tuning at first. The foil you based your build on (the one in the Seabreeze article) is still going strong and now being used buy a mate of mine who has successfully lear...
This is the best way, and probably the easiest too (my opinion) to make a base mount off an existing board: http://kitefoil.forumactif.org/t1781-pose-d-inserts-dans-la-planche-pour-foil-avec-embase (from the French foil forum - pioneers of all things foil) Use Google translate if the pics don't tell...
