Re: Can we all agree about slo-mo?

I’ll take any video over a bunch of lengthy verbal descriptions,.....or complaints. Some angles like a tradional head mount are really limited to me whether kiting or winging I generally dislike any music background. Plain old wind noise preferred Real time speed is great, but if it’s showing endles...

Re: 3 ways to tack with a Wingfoil

Toe to heel, check. Heel to toe, check. Behind the back, well, a work in progress but gettin there. Behind the back is definitely more releasing and regrabbing stuff to get done than standard tacks. Unfortunately on one of my behind-the-back tack regrab’s with my “new” back hand, I jammed my fingers...

Re: 1600cm2 high aspect wing and 78kg, should have I gone bigger?

Did you make an adaptor to slot the Axis onto the gong setup? That would be correct. Had a local machine shop do it. The Gong Al masts are just too spongy for the larger front wings, and I opted for this solution over the Gong mono bloc carbon masts since it was a bit cheaper and offered me more ma...

Re: 1600cm2 high aspect wing and 78kg, should have I gone bigger?

OMG, I am pretty much right in your category with about the same situation. I’m 76 kg and just upgraded from a Gong pro XL to the Veloce XL. My board is a FoilSurfMachine 5’1”,90 L wing board. Was worried about higher stall speed and about how well the Veloce XL would carve. My biggest hand wing is ...

Re: 6 and 4 m2 ?

Even though my Echo 6m/4m combo provides sufficient overlap, I’m really glad I added a 5m for our summertime thermals here on the OBX. It’s been hitting the sweet spot for a lot of summer sessions so far. The 6m is a great light wind wing for me (76 kg) but I’ll downsize to the 5 just as soon as the...

Re: Duotone Echo bag?

I have 6,5,4, and 3.3m Echo’s. I never leave the boom attached to the wing and Duotone recommends not doing it. It only takes a few seconds to remove the boom and store it separately. Same thing about rolling the wings up. I can roll a wing up and fold it in half for the Echo bags even quicker than ...

Re: First Session: Groove G-Fuerte Wingboard

Nice! But you need to give us the spec’s on the board. Length, width, thickness, volume, weight, construction, price.... I think this is what you are looking for. https://www.groovekiteboards.it/boards/g-wing/ Nope. That is not the Board. The board I am riding is a new board I designed together wit...

Re: Wing foiling for high wind

I’m OBX so we get plenty of days 20+ knots. Winging is definitely biased for medium to high wind, and I like it way better than kite foiling for those really gusty 10-25, 15-30 days we often get. I have a 6m Echo that I use with a Moses W1100 that’s great for 10-15, but with 8-12 it’s just not worth...

Re: high aspect foils

The duotone with the boom looks like it can have some one handed advantages. Any wing designs out there that allow for use of a carbon paddle shaft as a boom? Paddle out of the bay just dragging the wing, attach paddle, foil, reverse. Naish S25’s have some paddle attachement points last I looked, b...
