Re: YpraSurf. My experiences with some Gong foilw

I got the Ypra Surf L as well 2 days ago - now waiting for some wind :) Indeed, as unless you are really talented and can foil out of your transitions at speed, you need some wind - they are small even the big ones (IMO) :naughty: 8) Peter That tells me a lot. I love riding swell and bumps but I al...

Re: Foilwings and wings used in your country/area

Pretty interesting. In the US you don’t see Gong almost at all. Gear differs a lot depending on region, but I see a lot of Axis, Lift, FOne Cabrinha, Armstrong and Unifoil foils. Lots of Fone, Duotone, Cabrinha, North and Ocean Rodeo wings. Gong requires expensive international shipping to the US. ...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything

Looking crazy good Dave :thumb: So much fun to watch, and even more doing, and trying to do it  How come you don't flag the wing and surf a bit? Even with your wide angle (making waves look 5 times smaller) I can see you have just fine wind swells :naughty: 8) Peter In the last part of th...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything

I had no choice in having to back away from kiteboarding due to chronic back and knee issues. Still miss it, but strapless kitefoiling and now wingfoiling have allowed me to stay on the water and still have fun. I’ll readily admit that wing foiling has taken over for me despite still having my kitef...

Re: My experiences with some Gong foilwings

Thought I would add a couple comments as a long time Gong foil user. Aside from the classic front foil to fuselage connection issues (for the most part easily fixable once you know the tricks), the other thing that you should be careful about is the fragility of the Pro stabilizers. I had one H42 Fl...

Re: My experiences with some Gong foilwings

Very thorough review Peter. Thanks. I’m assuming your predominant riding style is the same as most everyone else; flag out on bumps/waves (?) My dilemma is how to assess these wings for flat water strapless freestyle riding. Seems like very few people ride that way so they don’t even consider it whe...

Re: An IMO overseen foilwing

Ha haa, I don't have that many foilwings, it is during the over 4 years wingfoiling and many of them "progression" foils. Not necessarily in listed order, but things and we evolve and have different likings, also over time. Really easy to sell again, Gong foilwings. 8) Peter Understood. What is you...

Re: An IMO overseen foilwing

Somebody asked me if I could put some words on my experiences on different Gong wings. Yes I can, but would rather answer questions about specific wings. I have and have had: Curve XL 92 span 1734 cm2. Curve LT 85 span 1350 cm2. Curve 2023 M 83 span 1009 cm2. Fluid XLS XLS 86 span 1399 cm2. FluidT ...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything...

Interesting thread. I remember Sept 2019 when I got my first wing foiling gear, Peter (Frank) and most of the kiteboarding/kitefoiling crowd here was understandably much more skeptical about the potential. For me it was a no-brainer. As much as I loved Kiteboarding (2000-2018) my aging body joints (...
