Re: Corona Virus - Has your country banned kitesurfing?

Even during peak summer season not much watersports going in Japan...beaches are usually mostly empty all year. So no problem kitesurfing. I spent more days kitesurfing by myself than any other places in the world. Yea its not perfect pealing waves or 30 knots wind everyday but still ridable conditi...

Re: Who are the foilers?

At our area nearly all wing foilers around dont kitesurf/kitefoil. Nearly all of them are either surfers , windsufers and especially SUPers. Some of the foils they used are so huge, they can ride just pumping the board without even a wing *nearly no wind...that was quite interesting to watch. Now th...

Re: Wing surf in waves, onshore?

Would like to try but...all these videos looks super fun just foil kiting...plenty of wind and waves and a smaller board to rip. I mean think about it. They seem incredibly stoked flying slowly on a huge board, imagine having more speed control and turning sharper on a smaller foil board... What hap...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Not how the rest of the world feels about this, but for us in Japan the most complaints I hear is of bladder tech, not kite weight or ripstop strenght.Who cares, some tape and your good to go. But Bladders!! dont last a season before leaking air. And of course valve problems. Pin holes in bladders i...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Food for thought.
Why not just lose some weight. Shaving a couple of kilos off should bring the same performance advantages?
The kite might be lighter but a hippo on a lighter 12m2 is still a hippo. A nimble kite doesn’t necessary mean a nimble kitesurfer...

Re: Kevin Langeree leaving Naish...

I dont think most kitesurfing "pros" do it for the money, as most seem too already make a comfortable living, and payout doesn't seem that great. Being able to have fun travel worldwide and showoff your skills in competition is probably ones main goal at first, then get the experience/contacts for a...

Re: Kitesurfing on Lanzarote

Even during high tide you have space to launch, just walk a couple of minutes south towards the surf area were the beach starts to get wider out of the rocks. There is usually no surfers and very little beachgoers. The beach patrol is quite understanting of this during high tide and will let you lau...
