Re: We filmed a kite beach for 8 hours ... crashes

What surprises me very often is basic body dragging skills upwind to your board seems to be completely lacking, even for many experienced kiters. I learned body dragging with one hand out (front hand) pointing upwind practicing both sides, to simulate edging on a board. The best advice I ever got. T...

Re: We filmed a kite beach for 8 hours ... crashes

Just wow. I will never been going to kite beach. #1 mistake. Nearly everyone seems to be overpowered on a kite way bigger than they really need. Judjing from the trees on the sea conditions looks like 20~25knots? Im seeing 9s, 10, 12s....with long lines???? Id be lit on my 6~7m2. I dont see the diff...

Re: I Think We Have More Drift !

Ive ridden drifty and non drifty kites...Not that huge a difference. It really depends on wind direction and your skill level/weight and on how you SLOW DOWN on/before the wave. "Kitesurfers" tend to have way to much speed entering the wave. A giveaway is they have both of their hands on the bar whi...

Re: statement from Lou

1. Lou has officially entered mid-life crises. Take is comments with a grain of salt. Like good wine some "legendary" people just don't age well. 2. You can easily get """"affordable"""" gear. Kite surfing or foiling. Brand new cheeper zeeko foils full set with board costs 1200euro. Used around 800....

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

I rode a 7'7 x 27 SUP surf board with big quad fins upwind without too much problem in 10 knots. And yes , seems like the front hand needs to be way forward when not foiling to go upwind. People tend to forget that you need to hook up 2 leashes...what a pain. Tried with just the wing leash but you c...

Re: Ozone WASP Wing

I am sure the wasp is a great wing, the problem are the boards right now. SUP foil boards? Really?!? Not a good way to attract kitesurfers to the sport. Surfing, small thin ultralight boards. Kitefoiling, ultra small super light boards. Kitesurfing, small thin medium light boards. Wingsurfing, super...

Re: Why do manufacturers do not list board weight?

Kite surf boards tend to be heavy due to extra pads, straps mount, thicker "tougher" deck.
Brands should at least specify if their board is over or under 3 kg. Many boards are over 4kg...but marketed as light weight.

Re: What is the biggest kite you use for foiling?

Very dependent on your location. You are very lucky If you can have very steady super light winds. I never go bigger than 12m2. I have seen so many foilers swim back to shore with their 15m2+ tube or rams. Very risky here since under 10 knots wind is usually means 0 to 8 knots...Very rare to have st...

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

The biggest plus I can see is the ability to launch in areas where kiting is impossible. Biggest flawed argument. Why? The gear is annoyingly bulky. Big heavy board with a wing you need to pump, then carry together to hard to reach area?? You will do it once, then probably go back to your regular w...

Re: Duotone 2020

Profit is in selling expensive parts, not kites. Bladder, lines, screws etc...Same is true for cars, planes... The trick is to get a quality brand name for parts, something that sounds German or like a pharmaceutical company. Then at the 3 month mark have the parts engineered so they fail very progr...
